President Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed assertions that more than 20,000 people turned out for Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren's rally in New York on Monday evening, lobbing accusations of crowd-size inflation that have long been leveled at himself.
"Certainly, if I went to Manhattan, if I went there — No. 1, she didn’t have 20,000 people and No. 2, I think anybody would get a good crowd there," he told reporters on Air Force One, according to a pool report. "I think you have a good crowd there if you don’t even go there, just say you’re going and how many people are in the park.”
Trump did not provide a basis for his claim. The 20,000 estimation for the rally, which packed Manhattan's Washington Square Park, comes from the Warren campaign, but it does not yet appear to have been corroborated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. The department has said it permitted the event for an audience of up to 10,000.

As a general rule, I try to keep my Twitter feed quite boring. I usually stick to my areas of expertise: law and politics or campaign finance and bureaucracy. Sometimes I throw in a silly GIF or two, just to spice things up. But I was so taken with something that my daughter said after meeting Sen. Elizabeth Warren in one of her famous “selfie lines” recently that I tweeted it out. The tweet caught fire, gaining over a million impressions and over 26,000 likes. Many comments to the photo focused on the influence that Warren is clearly having on girls in this campaign. One person responded with the familiar picture of a young Bill Clinton shaking President John F. Kennedy’s hand. Like Kennedy, it’s entirely possible that Warren has already shaken hands — or pinkies — or with a young fan who will one day be president. But she’s also pushing us to believe, now, that running for president is “what girls do.” She wants us to believe that we’re living in a new era, an era where there is usually more than one woman on debate stages and female candidates are common, not extraordinary. Warren is asking America’s girls, their parents and really the whole country to envision a national political culture in which women are simply expected to run. And she is doing so by crisscrossing the country, making pinkie promises with thousands of little girls.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren has overtaken former Vice President Joe Biden in Iowa, according to a new Des Moines Register/CNN poll of the crucial state. The poll out Saturday night found Warren was the top choice for the Democratic nomination with 22 percent support among likely caucus-goers, while Biden had the support of 20 percent of respondents. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders fell to third with 11 percent. The poll was conducted of 602 likely Democratic caucus-goers from Sept. 14-18. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points. The last Register/CNN poll, in June, had Biden leading with 24 percent and Warren in the third spot at 15 percent, slightly behind Bernie Sanders, who came in second with 16 percent support.

Elizabeth Warren fired back at Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter Tuesday morning, after the Facebook founder and CEO said it would "suck" if his company had to fight her future administration's plans to break up certain tech giants.
“What would really ‘suck’ is if we don’t fix a corrupt system that lets giant companies like Facebook engage in illegal anticompetitive practices, stomp on consumer privacy rights, and repeatedly fumble their responsibility to protect our democracy,” the Massachusetts senator tweeted.
Warren’s missive, touting her policy to break up Silicon Valley titans, was in response to two hours of leaked audio in which the tech mogul said he anticipated winning any legal challenge if Warren were elected president.
"You have someone like Elizabeth Warren who thinks that the right answer is to break up the companies ... I mean, if she gets elected president, then I would bet that we will have a legal challenge, and I would bet that we will win the legal challenge. And does that still suck for us? Yeah," Zuckerberg said during a leaked meeting with employees.

Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign has fired its national organizing director, Rich McDaniel, after an investigation into allegations of what it called “inappropriate behavior.” “Over the past two weeks, senior campaign leadership received multiple complaints regarding inappropriate behavior by Rich McDaniel,” campaign spokesperson Kristen Orthman said in a statement after an inquiry from POLITICO Friday morning. “Over the same time period, the campaign retained outside counsel to conduct an investigation. Based on the results of the investigation, the campaign determined that his reported conduct was inconsistent with its values and that he could not be a part of the campaign moving forward.” A person familiar with the investigation said that there were no reports of sexual assault, but could not comment further due to confidentiality. The investigation was conducted by attorney Kate Kimpel and her firm KK Advising, according to the person. In a statement, McDaniel said, "I have separated from the campaign and am no longer serving as National Organizing Director. I have tremendous respect for my colleagues despite any disagreements we may have had and believe departing at this time is in the best interest of both parties.
