“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” will feature 50 acts — including five winners apiece from America and Britain as well as eight others from around the world — competing to be declared the best of the best. Each of the first five episodes will showcase 10 of these acts. We’ve done some digging and have the line-up for the premiere on January 7. Among those taking to the stage on the first episode is the most famous alumni of the franchise, Susan Boyle, whose audition video went viral. It is a surprise to many to discover that she did not win “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2009 but placed second to dance troupe Diversity. Since then, Susan has recorded eight albums, reaching #1 in more than 40 countries and earning upwards of 125 platinum and gold album certifications worldwide. Among the other nine acts vying for bragging rights are three that won their respective country’s version of the show, including Bianca Ryan, who was just 11 when she was crowned winner of the first season of “AGT” back in 2006.

The first 10 of 50 acts that will compete on January 7 are: Susan Boyle (“Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up in Season 3), Bianca Ryan (“AGT” winner of Season 1), Alex Magala (“Russia’s Got Talent” winner of Season 8), Justice Crew (“Australia’s Got Talent” winner of Season 4), Uzeyer Novruzov (“AGT” Season 10 finalist), The Clairvoyants (“AGT” Season 11 finalist), Sofie Dossi (“AGT” Season 11 finalist), Preacher Lawson (“AGT” Season 12 finalist), Sara & Hero (“AGT” Season 12 finalist) and Vicki Barbolak (“AGT” Season 13 finalist). Which returning contestants are YOU most looking forward to seeing Monday night? With a whopping 50 acts returning to the fold, spread out over the next five weeks, it’s tough to predict who might ultimately win. But upcoming talents like Courtney Hadwin (“AGT” finalist in Season 13) and Darci Lynne Farmer (“AGT” winner of Season 12) are looking strong as they come into “Champions” as two of the most viral acts in the show’s history.

Su-Bo, Suse, the voice of an angel – whatever adoring nickname you want to call Susan Boyle, there’s no denying that most of us have a little soft spot for the unlikely music superstar. The proud Scot won the nation’s heart the second she opened her mouth to sing Les Miserables’ I Dreamed A Dream on Britain’s Got Talent almost 10 years ago. Back then, Susan, now 57, was unemployed and frightfully bashful as she gingerly graced the stage in front of judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, with hopes of becoming a successful singer. SHE’S BACK! The 14-year-old ventriloquist and her puppet Oscar amazed the judges with “Nutbush City Limits” and “Proud Mary!” Now a decade later, Su-Bo is still capturing the hearts of audiences with her current appearance on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, which sees past winners of the franchise battle for the winning title yet again.

America’s Got Talent: The Champions returned Monday with another action-packed episode with plenty of fan favorites and returning winners. This week featured winners from Britain, Holland and Spain’s versions of the show, all with varying degrees of success.
The interesting thing about AGT and competition reality shows, in general, is that as the seasons go on, viewers learn from the comments and mistakes of previous contestants and then they themselves go on to compete on the show with all the knowledge and carefully curated skill. As a result, contestants from later seasons seem to have an edge on some of the earlier winners, showing a higher degree of difficulty in their routines as well as a more powerful connection with the audience. This week Heidi had the power of the golden buzzer and she put it to good use.

Up first is the winner of Season 12 of AGT and fan favorite 13-year-old Darci Lynne. Darci Lynne is a ventriloquist/singer who is the first kid we’ve seen this season. Usually, AGT is chock-full of cute kids doing cute things like making animal noises or warbling Frank Sinatra tunes, but because this season is the champions it’s a lot harder to find a child among the ranks, simply because the child champions have, well, grown up! Darci’s act included her puppet Oscar, a mouse with a bowtie and glasses.
Together, after a funny introduction, they sing Ike and Tina Turner’s “Nutbush City Limits.” Darci Lynne is such a powerhouse of a singer that she is able to adequately sing in two different registers, one as Oscar and one as herself on a song that isn’t the easiest to master! A standing ovation followed her act and Simon commented on how she was able to combine humor, showmanship, and singing altogether into one really professional act that shows just how competitive she is this season.
