A former director for QUEEN has told Page Six that a sequel to the band's biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" is "being heavily discussed." Rudi Dolezal — who became close with QUEEN singer Freddie Mercury during his life — also said that he is "sure" the group's manager Jim Beach "plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid."
QUEEN's six-song performance at Live Aid serves as the triumphant finale for "Bohemian Rhapsody", starring Rami Malek as Mercury. The movie has made more than $870 million worldwide and won four Oscars last month.
QUEEN guitarist Brian May has hinted that a "Bohemian Rhapsody" sequel could be in the works. He said in a December interview: "I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel."
At the moment, there are two other QUEEN-related films on the way: "Freddie Mercury: In His Own Words", a collection of Dolezal's interviews with the singer; and "The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story", which will air in April on ABC. Dolezal is also working on a book titled "My Friend, Freddie".

After the worldwide triumph of film Bohemian Rhapsody, rumours regarding a possible sequel began spreading like wildfire, reported Harper’s Bazaar. The speculations were fuelled by Rdui Dolezal, director of many Queen music videos, who recently revealed in an interview that the band’s manager Jim Beach would be interested in a follow-up. “I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid,” said Dolezal, adding that a second film is “being discussed heavily in the Queen family”.

Bohemian Rhapsody editor John Ottman received quite a bit of backlash after the film took home the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. Now, the Oscar-winning editor has addressed the viral mocking over one specific scene, and it looks like he just might agree with the fans on this one. Bohemian Rhapsody celebrated a huge night at the Oscars, taking home four out of five awards it was nominated for. However, some people are angry at one of the Queen biopic’s wins because they think it was undeserved. Many viewers are outraged that the film won the Best Editing award and are using a specific scene from the film to prove their point. You can watch the scene they’re referring to in the tweets below.

The duo were very close for a very long time; initially a couple before remaining very close friends. Boynton starred as Austin alongside Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, and summed up why she thinks they were able to remain so tight for so long. And it’s all about how “open minded and open hearted” they each were. She told Collider, when asked what “struck” her about the pair: “Just how pragmatic and open-minded and open-hearted [the relationship] was. “I think that comes from the very solid foundation of this clarity of sight for one-another, that they had from very early on. “So when approaching the unforeseen trajectory of their relationship, they were able to be understanding - and like I said, pragmatic about it; rather than trying as we do so frequently now, try to define a relationship and put it in a category or under a label.” She added: “I keep using the word ‘modern’ to relate to that relationship, and it’s a shame to have to say that in 2018.”
