The police motorcyclist was thrown from his motorbike after colliding with a Toyota Prius near Regent's Park, London and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the Prius remains in hospital in a "non-life threatening" condition after being cut out of the car by firefighters. The Metropolitan Police's Road Traffic Investigation Unit are investigating and have yet to make any arrests. According to one witness, the Prince looked "distressed" in his Range Rover. "I could see Prince Harry clearly in the back of the car with his head in his hands," he reportedly said. "He looked really distressed and was constantly looking back over his shoulder to see what was happening. It was clear that for security reasons had to stay in the car." The incident took place at around 9.40am yesterday at Prince Albert Road, on the junction with Regent's Park, and saw local road closures were put in place while police assisted with the clear up. Once, he was known as the prince who never turned down a chance to party. Now that he’s turned 30 today, he has grown up and here’s how we know: Out of concern for pregnant Duchess Kate, he called off the nightclub-style birthday party she had planned for him at Kensington Palace tonight. His sister-in-law is still down with acute morning sickness so her plan to cook Harry and 30 of his closest friends and relatives a birthday feast seemed inappropriate in the circumstances, according to the Daily Mirror and Vanity Fair. For now, Harry will have to settle for the huge success of his Invictus Games as his birthday celebration and the general acclaim he received for organizing them. The five-day games for more than 400 wounded-warrior athletes from 14 countries ended Sunday with a star-studded closing ceremony and a concert that featured his pal Ellie Goulding and two of his favorite bands, the Foo Fighters and the Kaiser Chiefs, at London’s Olympic Park. Harry was exultant in his closing remarks and comments to reporters. “I’m over the moon actually. When you have something in your head it’s actually quite dangerous because you know how you want it to pan out and you never know whether it will,” he said. “But as I’ve said numerous times over this last week, the British public have taken to this like ducks to water.” His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was impressed, too. Harry read a congratulatory statement from her in which she said she was “deeply moved” by the athletes’ “courage, determination and talent.” Later, Harry told reporters he’d like to see the next Invictus Games take place up north, maybe even in Glasgow, Scotland. It was a remark immediately interpreted as a royal assumption that Scotland would still be part of the United Kingdom after Thursday’s independence vote, although palace press minders denied that’s what he meant.

Unable to see the stage and blocked in by other fans, five-year-old Isabelle Nixon was less than impressed with the Invictus Games closing ceremony - until, that is, Prince Harry came to the rescue. After spotting the little girl, the prince, 30, hoisted her on to his shoulders and then stayed to dance with her as the Foo Fighters took to the stage. Isabelle, whose father Adam, 31, from Hereford, captained Team GB's wheelchair basketball team to victory on Sunday, didn't realise who her hero was until her delighted mother Taryn exclaimed: 'You're dancing with Prince Harry!' Isabelle said: 'I was completely over the moon. I was chuffed to bits.' Mr Nixon, a former Gunner in 26 Regiment Royal Artillery, lost his one of his legs following an IED explosion in Basra in Iraq in March 2004. His left leg had to be amputated while his right was badly damaged, leaving him confined to a wheelchair. Despite his injury, Mr Nixon, who has four children, daughter Abigail, 11, Jayden, eight, five-year-old Isabelle and three-year-old Lilyana, continued to play his basketball. 'Prince Harry had spoken to us at the ceremony, just to say how proud he was of us guys,' explained Mr Nixon. 'We were underdogs in the final but we beat the US at their own game.' 'He came up, shook my hand and said: "You are a legend" and I asked him for a photo with him and my family. 'Then later, after his speech, Foo Fighters were on the main stage. He came to listen to the music.' But when Harry, who had earlier told Mr Nixon that he just wanted to 'chill out' and watch the show, spotted the tearful Isabelle, he swung into action. 'He recognised her from earlier in the day and saw she was getting upset because she couldn’t see the band,' adds Mr Nixon. 'He approached us and smiled at me and just literally picked her up and just started to dance so she could see the stage. 'There was no calculation to it. He just recognised her from earlier and lifted her up on his shoulders so she could see. It was a bit of a whirlwind. It was very surreal.' Thrilled at being picked up and given a proper view of the stage, Isabelle at first had no idea who her rescuer was, only realising when her mother Taryn, 30, revealed her rescuer's identity. 'When she realised who it was, she was lost for words,' added her proud father. 'She just danced along to the Foo Fighters with him and hasn’t stopped smiling since.'

Dressed in a sweat top, skinny jeans and pumps, it’s the perfect casual look for a night at the cinema. This, however, was Cressida Bonas dressed for a date at the Kensington Odeon with her former boyfriend, Prince Harry. The sight of the pair furtively slipping out of the pictures after a mid-week date led to fevered speculation yesterday that their romance may be blossoming again. Observers have noted in recent weeks that Cressida has been dressing more provocatively in a series of flesh-baring outfits, just as Kate glammed up her look during her brief split from Prince William. It is the second time the couple, who dated for two years before suddenly splitting back in April, have been seen in public together over the last few days. On Sunday night the 25-year-old budding actress was a guest at a concert in London to mark the end of the prince’s remarkable Invictus Games for injured service personnel. There are also reports they have been seen together in a West London bar. The couple were accompanied by a group of friends on their visit to the cinema (where Princess Diana often used to take her two sons) on Tuesday. It’s just a short hop from Harry’s bachelor pad at Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry was on the receiving end of some extra love Monday evening from one very cute little boy. While attending the WellChild Awards, 4-year-old Carson Hartley gave Harry not only a high five but also a hug while the prince visited with him and his family. Hosted by WellChild, a charity dedicated to helping sick children, the annual awards show recognizes the courage of children afflicted with serious illnesses, as well as the doctors, nurses, volunteers and families who tend to them. Hartley, who battles spina bifida, brittle bones and a heart defect according to WellChild’s website, was a nominee at the event, earning him some one-on-one time with Prince Harry during a reception before the ceremony. In a short video of the event, Hartley is seen talking with the prince, then putting his hand up for a high five. But that was apparently not enough for the litte tyke, who went in for a hug before the two parted ways. The prince, who is a patron of WellChild, went on to speak to all of the children during the awards presentation, praising their bravery in the face of physical illness. “Your stories are moving beyond words and remind us all of just how fantastic you all are,” the prince said. “We can learn a great deal from your strength of character, resolve and humor in facing down challenges every day.”
