Prince Harry has been getting in some Christmas shopping in the Middle East, picking up a soft toy camel and rubbing an oil lamp as if to make a wish. The prince, 30, was touring a souk in Oman when he dipped into his pockets for some mementos. And The Daily Telegraph ponders if the cashmere scarf he picked out is for sister-in-law Kate and whether a gray and red masar, or turban, scarf is destined for his brother, Prince William. There's no doubt that the $7 cuddly camel is best suited to 16-month-old Prince George. At one shop, he didn't even have to pay: The owner insisted that he take a wooden box, shaped like a mini-treasure chest, and a colorful tote bag as gifts. Perhaps Prince Charles, 66, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will find them wrapped for Christmas, The Daily Telegraph suggests. There's no doubt that they'd be fitting presents for the royals. The Windsors like to give each other inexpensive gifts, which they lay out on long trestle tables in the drawing room at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham House to kick off festivities on Christmas Eve, former chef Darren McGrady has told PEOPLE. It wasn't just gifts that caught playful Harry's eye. When he was browsing another store in the aptly-named Alauddin City, he handled a tiny oil lamp and rubbed it, Aladdin-style. (Was the bachelor prince wishing a genie would appear and conjure up a bride?) Some local youngsters were hoping that a princess had indeed emerged. The school kids had gathered, preparing to hand over flowers, for Harry and his "wife." When they were told that he didn't have one, they had to keep a second bouquet hidden.

Although the 30-year-old royal traded his polo mallet for a rugby ball just weeks ago for a new British sports initiative, on Thursday, Prince Harry climbed back into his polo horse’s saddle to raise money for his African charity Sentebale, which raises funds for children affected by HIV and AIDS in Lesotho in southern Africa. He led his team to a 5-4 victory in the charity match that took place in the United Arab Emirates, and he was even named Man of the Match. Making the day even more smashing (and I hope you read that word with a British accent) was the presence of a few celebrities, including former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell (aka Ginger Spice) and Dan Stevens, whom Americans will know best as Matthew Crawley from “Downton Abbey.” Halliwell’s fiance, Formula 1 Red Bull boss Christian Horner, was also there. Asked if by the Daily Mail whether she’d ever been on a polo pony before, Halliwell said yes and described the horse “like a Ferrari,” but she was interrupted by Horner, who jokingly, the paper assures, said, “No, don’t say Ferrari, it’s Red Bull!” The winning team, the Sentebale Huntsman Team (L-R): Abdulla Ben Desmal, Malcolm Borwick, Prince Harry and Saeed Bin Drai.

Prince Harry was the first man to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on becoming a multiple-time F1 world champion - but thanked him for not making it a nervous showdown. Hamilton stormed ahead of rival Nico Rosberg from the grid to run away with his 11th race win of the victory, enough to secure him the drivers' title for the first time since 2008. Celebrations began in the pits, where Harry was stood alongside Mercedes executives and was primed with a radio. His Royal Highness said: "Lewis thank you very much for not making the British public sweat. "You are an absolute legend. Well done mate." Once he was out of the car, an emotional Hamilton spoke of his joy at securing his second World Championship. "I'm lost for words," he said. "I want to say a big huge thank you for all the fans coming out all this way, it made all the difference this weekend, and to my family and my mum (Carmen) back home, and to my team. I can't explain how much this means. It means more than the first one, it feels like the first time, I'm blessed. This is the greatest day of my life. 2008 was a special time, but the feeling I have now is way past that, above and beyond."

Some will feel the scene is rather seedy. A barefoot young man partying on board a yacht grasps a plastic cocktail glass in one hand and the nozzle of a shisha, or hookah, pipe with the other, holding it to his mouth. The young man is Prince Harry, who, even at 30, has failed to shed his worrying habit of presenting the world with inappropriate images of the Royal Family at play. A picture of him sucking on the shisha on a yacht — hired for a lavish party by a Dubai branch of Mayfair nightclub Mahiki — has this week been winging its way round the world. The colourful scene took place in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina last Friday, two days before the Formula 1 season’s final Grand Prix was held in the emirate. Harry attended the race on Sunday, and when British driver Lewis Hamilton was crowned World Champion, he was publicly hailed by the Prince — in notably unregal style — as a ‘legend’. That evening Harry was to be found ‘twerking’ in a nightclub, which he didn’t leave until nearly dawn. All in all, a somewhat undignified weekend. The problem for the Prince is that everywhere he goes these days, people brandish their smart phones to snap him. At one point, Harry smiled for a photo with his arm round American R&B singer Tyrese Gibson. So Harry may receive a sharp reprimand from his grandfather, non-smoking Prince Philip, who has been patron of the BHF since its inception 53 years ago. As Professor Peter Weissberg, the foundation’s medical director, says: ‘There is a worrying misconception that smoking shisha is not harmful to your health. But strip away the fruity flavours and you’re left with the same toxic and addictive substances as cigarettes, including tar, nicotine, arsenic and lead.’ The BHF points out that in one puff from a shisha, a user inhales the same amount of smoke as from an entire cigarette. Using it for 15 minutes, as Harry did, is equivalent to smoking 25 cigarettes.

Britain's Prince Harry has revealed a secret. The fourth in line to the throne unveiled a hidden fear Monday in support of the #FeelNoShame campaign being run by his Sentebale charity for World AIDS Day. Prince Harry co-founded the Sentebale charity with Lesotho's Prince Seeiso in 2006 after being struck by the impact of AIDS/HIV on children and young people in the southern African nation. Throughout the day, celebrities including singer Joss Stone, actor Charley Boorman, race car driver Daniel Ricciardo, and former rugby player and sport commentator Will Greenwood will be revealing secrets about themselves as part of #FeelNoShame. Television presenter Luke Franks has already revealed that he sometimes wears ladies' jeans -- for a better fit -- while footballer Christian Eriksen admitted eating all his advent calendar chocolates early. Wearing the red ribbon of the AIDS awareness campaign, Prince Harry revealed his secret in a video message released at 1 p.m. GMT. "My secret is -- believe it or not -- I get incredibly nervous before public speaking, no matter how big the crowd or the audience and, um, despite the fact that I laugh and joke all the time I get incredibly nervous, if not anxious, actually, before going into rooms full of people when I'm wearing a suit," he said. "And now that I've confessed that, I'll probably be even more worried that people are looking at me." World AIDS Day has been held every December 1 since 1988 and is aimed at increasing awareness of the virus and raising funds to combat its effects.
