Prince Harry Encourages the World to Seek ‘Empathy and Compassion’ at VAX LIVE Concert Prince Harry shares a passionate message calling for ‘empathy and compassion’ at the VAX LIVE benefit Concert. Harry alongside his wife, Meghan Markle serve as chairs of the Global Citizen Campaign. Global Citizen’s ‘Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World’ premieres May 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on select channels and at 5 p.m PT on YouTube. Yesterday, Selena Gomez, Prince Harry, Jennifer Lopez, and more stars pre-taped Global Citizen's Vax Live: The Concert To Reunite The World special that will air next weekend. But Meghan Markle, a co-chair with Harry for the event, wasn't photographed or seen there in person with them. Why wasn't she around? It's likely the same reason Meghan didn't attend Prince Philip's funeral in England last month: The Duchess of Sussex is very pregnant with her and Harry's second child, and there's still an ongoing pandemic, making group gatherings—even television productions like this one where there is COVID testing and likely many vaccinated participants—not entirely risk-free. Meghan and Harry have not revealed whether or not have gotten vaccinated yet. But they only became eligible on April 15 in California, so it could be that they are not fully vaccinated yet because of the wait time between doses one and two of the Pfizer and Moderna shots (17-25 days for Pfizer or 24-32 days for Moderna). After they receive both doses, they have to wait another two weeks before they have full protection. It is safe, by the way, for those pregnant, like Meghan, to get a COVID-19 vaccine if they choose, according to the CDC.

The Duke of Sussex has said he wants to "break the cycle" of the "pain and suffering" of his upbringing with his own children. Prince Harry, who is expecting a daughter with wife Meghan and is already father to their son Archie, said he did not want to pass on pain from his own experience. But he said he did not think "we should be pointing the finger" at anybody. Buckingham Palace and Clarence House declined to comment on his remarks. During an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Prince Harry compared his life to a mixture of the film The Truman Show, in which the main character unwittingly lives his life on a TV show, and being in a zoo. He said in being born into the Royal Family "you inherit every element of it without choice", including that the UK media "feel an ownership over you". Inside the media's 'invisible contract' with the royals Prince Harry told American actor and podcast co-host Dax Shepard: "I don't think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I'm going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don't pass it on, basically. "It's a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on," he said, adding that parents should be trying to stop that happening. He said: "I started to piece it together and go 'okay, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he's treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?'" The Prince of Wales ignored questions from a BBC reporter about his son's remarks, which were put to him as he arrived at a royal engagement in Cardiff earlier.

Meghan Markle is suffering from some complications as her baby girl's arrival nears. According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex is having issues during her second pregnancy lately. "Meghan hasn’t been sleeping, has a lot of nausea and she’s had to cancel a couple of professional obligations,” the insider said. “It’s not going as easily as her last.” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they are expecting their second child, a daughter, on Valentine's Day this year. Meanwhile, the couple is trying to spend as much quality time with their son Archie as they can. “To wind down and switch off, they go for family walks on the beach and spend time in their beautiful garden,” the source explained about the family’s daily activities. “Archie’s a real water baby and loves being in the pool. Harry can’t wait to teach him to swim this summer.” The source added, “Archie can’t wait to meet his baby sister and loves putting his hand on his ’s tummy and feeling the baby move. He’s such a caring, bright, loving little boy and is super advanced for his age.”

Meghan Markle reportedly has no intention of backing down and plans to ‘stick to her guns’ in regards to her tiff with Prince William over ‘merciless’ staffer treatment. The claim has been brought forward by royal author and biographer Robert Lacey, he told Newsweek, “On one side we've got William who doesn't seem prepared to concede anything and on the other side friends have told me that Harry wouldn't mind reconciling and then it's Meghan who is sticking to her guns on this issue.” "It should surely be possible for both sides to say the past is in the past. It's very regrettable that Meghan doesn't withdraw just a little.” “Why can't she say it was the pressure? ‘I was getting used to this incredibly complicated system, I was just pregnant, I couldn't sleep… perhaps in retrospect I went over the top about it’.”

The roster for Saturday's Global Citizen Live event in Central Park may have included superstar musicians like Jennifer Lopez and Coldplay, but the impassioned words of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also struck a chord with attendees and viewers around the world. When the first few rows of the Central Park crowd spotted the couple waiting in the wings, the spectators got more and more excited, an observer at the gig tells PEOPLE: "For the crowd to be that energetic and attentive that early does speak to that they were wanting to hear what they wanted to say." The couple's chief priority was calling out vaccine inequity. "They are completely invested in vaccine equity. They were laser-focused that was what they wanted to deliver on. They led the charge on vaccine equity," says the source. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took the opportunity to plead with pharmaceutical companies to share what Harry called the "recipe" for the vaccines. "Guys, we have what we need to vaccinate the world," he said. "Many countries are ready to produce vaccines back home, yet they aren't allowed to because ultra-wealthy pharmaceutical companies are not sharing the recipes to make them. ... All they are waiting for is the vaccine intellectual property to be waived and the vaccine technology to be transferred over."
