Iron Maiden fans received big news with the announcement that the metal legends will be returning to North American this summer to launch a new leg of their The Book Of Souls World Tour. The trek is set to kick off in Bristow, Va at Jiffy Lube Live on June 3rd and will run until July 21st where it will conclude in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. The band has tapped Ghost to support them on the trek. Band founder and bassist Steve Harris had the following to say, "We are really looking forward to returning to North America for a full tour. We had always planned to go back there and to the UK as last year, due to the global nature of the tour and the period it took, we just didn't have time to cover them properly and we do still like to get to fans in as many places as possible!

A public vote — called a referendum — was held in June 2016 when voters were asked just one question: whether the U.K. should leave or remain in the EU, a group of 28 countries which trade with each other and allow anyone to easily move between the countries to live and work. The "Leave" side won (by nearly 52% to 48%) but the exit didn't happen straight away — it is slated to take place in March 2019. The Brexit vote has thrown the U.K. into a period of uncertainty, with some economists warning that it may lead to a downturn in the British economy while other people have claimed that it will help the U.K. negotiate better terms with the EU. A poll showed that many voters opted for Brexit because they "wanted the U.K. to regain control over EU immigration." Admitting that he was one of the people who voted for Brexit, Dickinson told the French news magazine L'Obs that he is "quite relaxed about the idea" of the United Kingdom separating from the European Union. "If musicians were running Europe, Europe would run a lot better because we'd all get on with each other and say, 'Yeah,'" the vocalist said. "IRON MAIDEN music is global music; we have fans everywhere. I don't see any problem with touring Australia; that's not part of the EU. There's no problem with touring in Japan; that's not part of the EU. I don't see any problem with touring America; oh, let me see — that's not part of the EU. Now, do those musicians have problems coming to Europe? No."

Iron Maiden are set to smash it once more in America in 2019 - and Maiden uber-fan Chris Jericho will be opening for them in Los Angeles with his band Fozzy. As part of our massive 2019 preview in the brand new issue of Metal Hammer – out now and featuring a world exclusive interview with Ozzy Osbourne on the cover - we asked Jericho to pick his fantasy Iron Maiden setlist. This is what he came up with
Intro: Doctor Doctor 1. Caught Somewhere In Time “One of my all-time favourite opening tracks. It’d be amazing to have it kick off the show again.”
2. Invaders “I’m not sure if they have ever played this live or ever will, but in my setlist it showcases the Air Raid Siren right out of the box.”
3. Infinite Dreams “It’s my favourite song from my second fave album. The middle section is classic Maiden and perfect for the live setting.”
4. Die With Your Boots On “It’s such an underrated Smith/Dickinson classic. It cooks live.” 5. Sign Of The Cross “The first of the ‘prog’ Maiden intros will give the crowda breather before exploding into this amazing epic.”
6. Killers “After a 10-minute ‘new song’ I think the crowd would go nuts for this intro and subsequent rocker.”
7. The Number Of The Beast “It might be cool to shy away from the ‘hits’, but Maiden have too many to ignore. This is the best.”
8. These Colours Don’t Run “A super-underrated live song. It’s perfect for my set!”
9. Prowler “After another new one, we bust out Maiden’s first ever song and a total blast from the metal past.”
10. The Book Of Souls “My fave song from their newest record, and one of their heaviest!”
11. Powerslave “This might be my favourite Maiden song of all time and it still crushes live. Plus, the Egyptian theme of the backdrop and lights adds an expected Maiden historical element to the set.”

Video footage of several former IRON MAIDEN members — original singer Paul Mario Day (1975 - 1976), guitarist Terry Wapram (1977 - 1978), drummer Doug Sampson(1977 - 1979), guitarist Terry Rance (1975 - 1976) and guitarist Dave Sullivan(1975 - 1976) — performing on January 20 at the legendary pub Cart & Horses in London, England can be seen below. Last month, four-fifths of the original IRON MAIDEN lineup reunited for the first time in 42 years. Bassist Steve Harris, who formed IRON MAIDEN on Christmas day in 1975, was photographed with Paul Mario Day, and Sullivan and Rance. Missing from the photo op was drummer Ron "Rebel" Matthews.

Day's latest face-to-face meeting with Harris came four years after the singer suggested in an online post that he had co-written the MAIDEN song "Strange World" but was never credited for his contributions.
Day wrote at the time: "This is my opinion. When I sang in IRON MAIDEN, it was a new pub band and nobody wanted to see or hear them. We were all nobodys all trying to make the best music we could and fighting for an audience.
Due to his lack of stage presence, Day was replaced in MAIDEN by Dennis Wilcock. Day went on to front SWEET and MORE while Terry Rance still plays with AIRFORCE, which features former IRON MAIDEN drummer Doug Sampson.
MAIDEN's first demo recording, "Soundhouse Tapes", featured Harris, singer Paul Di'Anno, guitarist Dave Murray and Sampson. It eventually landed MAIDEN a record deal with EMI in 1980. The band's self-titled debut album brought about a new lineup with the addition of Clive Burr to replace Sampson and Dennis Stratton on guitar.
