MAID are Blythe, Miracle and Kat who hail from Edinburgh, Devon and Bristol respectively. They formed the band in 2018 after meeting at drama school and while performing in the West End. All three members are all classically trained musicans and write their own music. They describe their musical style as Billie Eilish meets Sigrid and are currently writing and recording their first EP. The band name is a play on the idea that they’ve often found themselves as understudies, and they liked the idea that maids are often in a secret society gossiping about the families they serve.
Miracle’s full name is Miracle Chance and her brothers are called Brave and Silver. Miracle is the lead writer and producer of MAID’S music. She readily admits that whilst she’s the creative one, she’s also often "away with the fairies.”
Blythe has been in musical theatre since she was 14 and is a pro-roller skater, helped by a starring role in Starlight Express in Germany. She’s currently appearing in Aladdin in the West End. She's also understudy for the character Jasmine, who by coincidence is played by 2009 UK Eurovision alumni, Jade Ewen. Blythe is in charge of MAID's look and the group's social media.
Kat is half Norwegian and speaks the language fluently. She plans the violin like her Dad and brother who are both classical violinists. She recalls massive Eurovision parties in Norway out on holiday huts in the Fjords. Kat’s been in various West End shows (Once, Brief Encounters) and is the business head of MAID – highly organised, and she keeps the others in check.

The Greek broadcaster ERT has announced that Katerine Duska will represent the nation of Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest for 2019. Duska will be representing Greece when she sings in the second half of the first semifinal, which will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel on May 14th. The song she will perform has not yet been announced. The Canadian-Greek songstress was born and raised in Montreal. She began composing music when she was a teenager. At that same time, she moved with her family to Greece, where she later studied law at the University of Athens. Duska’s debut album “Embodiment” featured the singles “One in a Million” and “Won’t Leave.” Her cover of the Arctic Monkeys’ song “Do I Wanna Know” has over one million views on YouTube. She is signed to Minos EMI, one of the leading record labels in Greece. Her musical style channels the dark sonic timbres of Lykke Li and Jessie Ware and her trademark soulful rasp has earned her comparisons to the late English singer Amy Winehouse.

Ukraine has confirmed that it will not take part in this year's Eurovision Song Contest after a controversial contractual disagreement with its nominee. "There will be further discussions between the EBU and [Ukraine's broadcaster] UA:PBC on this matter but we hope to see them again in 2020," the organisers added. Ukrainian singer Maruv was due to represent her country at the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv after topping a public vote on Saturday, but was dropped after she refused to sign a contract with UA:PBC. The proposed contract from the Ukrainian broadcasting authority included restrictions on performing in Russia.

KEiiNO will represent Norway at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with the song Spirit In The Sky. The collaboration began with Tom Hugo and his husband Alex Olsson composing the outline of a song inspired by struggles for equal rights regardless of ethnicity, gender identity and sexuality. Given their long struggle in pursuit of equal rights, including a Sami songwriter in this emerging project made eminent sense. Buljo jumped at the opportunity and Spirit in the Sky was the result. Sarah McTernan will represent Ireland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with the song 22.
