The parents of Madeleine McCann have ripped into the revolting trolls who made an empty Maddie doll box without a figurine inside because “she’s missing”. A sick image appeared on Instagram of a "pop vinyl" gift and a picture of Madeleine McCann on the box. But the box is empty in a twisted joke after the tot went missing from Praia da Luz in 2007. The girl has caught the attention of the authorities because of her politeness and her lack of Italian. Internet campaigners think the girl could be one of several missing people, including Madeleine McCann who disappeared in 2007, and think she bears a striking resemblance to her. They show her as a fair-haired teen. One has her smiling broadly flashing a set of perfect white teeth. But the Instagram pictures have not been commissioned by the Metropolitan Police's Operation Grange team which has spent eight years probing the case. Nor have they been approved by Madeleine's doctor parents Kate and Gerry – a step bodies which create real age progression images say is vital in creating potentially accurate depictions. The McCanns fear the circulation of the bogus snaps could derail the search for their daughter as members of the public they hope could spot her will recall them ahead of real or officially compiled age-progression images.

Writing in her book 'Madeleine', Kate said the deal was offered to her by a Portuguese lawyer who said it would be "much better" for her to take the blame so Gerry could "walk free" and return to the UK with the twins. She was also told they could both go to prison for life if she didn't take the deal. It was made on the basis of a police theory where Kate and Gerry had killed Madeleine before hiding the body.
