Mötley Crüe co-founder and bassist Nikki Sixx shared a recent photo on his Instagram page and penned a long letter about why he is shooting in less mainstream areas. Nikki also answered long-time questions about if he’s ever scared when he was shooting in those areas. Here is his statement: “I’ve been asked a lot over the years if I am ever worried or scared when I am shooting in less mainstream areas. I always try to explain that we’re all human. We have basics needs like a place to sleep, food, water and hopefully some kind of love or friendship. http://instagram.com/p/BQH-Dm-lFFF Today was a great example of just hanging out and enjoying the joys of life. These two gentlemen were simply comparing their knives when I asked them to pose for me. We all had a laugh after. People are people. You can always find the good if your willing to look. If you wanna meet some of the nicest people in your life head #dtla around Skid Row. Take whatever you can spare and hand it out. Talk to people. Ask where they are from.#LeicaSl #35mm @leica_camera #nikkisixxphotography

According to Variety, MÖTLEY CRÜE is experiencing a bump on multiple platforms, including downloads, streams and book sales, following last month's release of the band's biopic "The Dirt" via Netflix. CRÜE songs were consumed 73.8 million times on Spotify and nearly 30 million plays were registered at Apple Music, a spike of 599% on Spotify and 1,081% on Apple Music, according to the band's management. Song sales also surged, with iTunes reporting 176,008 purchases, or a 1,330% rise when compared to the average 27-day period in the previous 12 months. Reacting to the news, drummer Tommy Lee commented: "We knew the MÖTLEY CRÜE fans, who had made 'The Dirt' book a New York Times bestseller, would be keen to see the movie after hearing it was coming for the past 15 years, but we weren't expecting the new younger audience reaction to the movie and the music.

Tommy Lee has pushed back against people criticizing him for expressing his political opinions on social media. The MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with President Donald Trump, including earlier this week when he implored the billionaire real estate mogul to "wake the fuck up" after the president blamed last weekend's mass shootings on video games and mental illness. As expected, many Trump supporters took issue with Tommy's remarks, with one person tweeting: "You should shut up and stick to drums." In response, Tommy wrote: "The next person who tells me to stick to drumming and stay out of politics, I'm gonna come to ur house and shove my drumsticks up ur ass until you sneeze" This prompted another Twitter user to fire back, saying that artists and entertainers lose their right to have a say in their country as soon as they achieve fame "because they don't know what it feels like living paycheck to paycheck; live in gated communities separate from the crime and ugliness and dirtiness on the street; eat extravagantly while others put back a steak so as not to go over at checkout line. THEY'RE OUT OF TOUCH!"
