The 28-year-old singer posted a minute-long video to Instagram on Wednesday, sharing an update with her fans on why she's been taking some time away from her social platforms.
"I wanted to take some time to do a quick message for you guys because I haven’t been posting that much," she began. "I just wanted to let you know that I love you guys and I miss you and there’s so many exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share with all of you."
"I just think at the beginning of this year, with everything going on, it felt a little insensitive to post things that may be a little just joyful or celebratory. It was really hard for me and I’ve taken the time to learn, truly learn, about what’s going on and I continue to make that my priority," she added before she went on to tell fans that she will start posting again soon.
"But, just letting you know that I’m going to be a little bit more involved and I’m just sending more love and gonna show you some more of my personal stuff and what I have been doing. But, thank you for being here, and thank you for supporting me always and I will talk to you soon," she concluded.
This month in collaboration news, Justin Bieber starred in the video for DJ Khaled and Drake's most recent project, "Popstar," in which he lip-syncs Selena Gomez's name. Despite rumors that Gomez, his ex, was asked to be in the video, she had no involvement in it at all, a source told People.
"Selena was never approached and had no plans to participate in the music video," the source said. These rumors started circulating among fans after a businessman named Shazir Mucklai said in a press release that he had told Gomez to appear in the music video to "lessen the friction" between her and Bieber.

Gomez doesn't show up anywhere in the video, and it seems that Mucklai's claims about her involvement were false. Hailey Baldwin, Justin Bieber's wife, does make an appearance at the end of the music video. In the video, she wakes up next to her husband, who shares his "crazy dream" with her. "I had this crazy dream that Drake asked me to be in a video, but he wasn't in the video; it was just a bunch of people...I love you, baby." Then, the two take their dog for a walk. During their walk, Bieber gets a call from none other than Drake.

Second, this is a great photo, and Selena looks fab here — she did her own makeup (she has a makeup line out that the interview raves about, but which I’ve also heard from other sources is really good) — and, once you get past the obligatory background stuff in this profile, she’s also very thoughtful and basically just seems like a good egg, talking about Black Lives Matter, her bipolar diagnosis, and her experience as the child of immigrants:

On Thursday, the 28-year-old singer posted an Instagram photo of herself modeling a blue one-piece with a front-zip closure from her longtime friend Theresa Marie Mingus's new swimwear line, La'Mariette. In the caption, Gomez shared that she finally feels confident enough to show the scar she received from an emergency follow-up procedure after her kidney transplant in 2017.
Gomez looks stunning and serene in the photo, wearing minimal makeup with her dark hair styled in a sleek low bun. She posed with one leg propped up on a rock, putting her inner thigh scar (which she first revealed in March 2018) and her prayer hands tattoo on full display.
“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up,” she captioned the post. “Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through...and I’m proud of that. T - Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that...all bodies are beautiful.”
