A Chinese variety show has apologised for editing a post-surgery photo of US pop star Selena Gomez and actress Francia Raisa in a comedy sketch. The episode of Who's the Murderer? altered the picture, taken after Raisa donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017, to replace the duo with men. Users on China's Weibo social media site branded the image "disrespectful" as Gomez has lupus disease. The show said on Thursday it held the "deepest regret" for its "negligence". The statement confirmed the content has now been removed from the show's future broadcasts. Who's the Murderer? - which airs on China's Mango TV channel and is adapted from South Korean programme Crime Scene - sees celebrities play various characters as they try to solve a murder mystery.

Selena Gomez went under the pen again recently to get a delicate cross on her collarbone, thanks to inker to the stars Bang Bang. The tattoo artist (born Keith Scott McCurdy) -- who has worked his magic on everyone from Katy Perry to Rihanna, Adele and Rita Ora -- chronicled his latest handiwork with a video, in which Gomez pulls down her mask and smiles as she shows off the image. Bang Bang captioned the short clip "We (heart) @selenagomez." http://instagram.com/p/CNtD8AzhxVD It was a reunion for Gomez and McCurdy, who most recently adorned her body with the title of her 2020 album, Rare, and who previously gave her several other custom pieces, including "God who strengthens me" written in script on Gomez's right hip in 2013, as well as a 2014 bit of Arabic writing on her back that reads "love yourself first" and the Roman numerals LXXVI (76) on the back of her neck as a tribute to her mother's birth year. The Rare Beauty founder explains why she and her brand are launching the #MentalHealth101 campaign Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Thursday to open up about her experiences with mental health while promoting a new campaign she is working on with her beauty company, Rare Beauty. "I know first hand how scary and lonely it can feel to face anxiety and depression by yourself at a young age," the singer wrote in a post. "If I had learned about my mental health earlier on—been taught about my condition in school the way I was taught about other subjects—my journey could have looked very different." Because of this, Selena is starting Mental Health 101 in conjunction with Rare Impact for Rare Beauty. The goal of Mental Health 101 is to increase mental health education and support in schools. "I hope that Mental Health 101 will be the stepping stones for others that I wish I had," Selena wrote. You can head to the Rare Beauty site for more info on the campaign and you can sign Selena's petition to "mitigate the mental health crisis by providing mental health services in schools" on Change.org. If you have the means to do so, you can also donate to the Rare Impact Fund, which is raising money to support the initiative.
