Since canceling the second half of her Revival Tour nearly one year ago to focus on her mental and physical health, a lot has changed for Selena Gomez. She has a new boyfriend, Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. the Weeknd, a new, more mature sound and a lower profile. Her beauty style has changed, too. The newly 25-year-old has embraced a softer, more natural look than the one she wore on the Revival Tour that featured long extensions and a heavy smoky eye. These days, she's all about subtle hair bends, glowy skin and warm make-up tones. In honor of Selena's September cover for InStyle, which was revealed Thursday, the glossy asked her go-to make-up artist Hung Vanngo to share his tips on copying her look.

InStyle’s September cover star Selena Gomez is not just a good sport—she’s a great one. How do we know? Because after her cover shoot, the singer readily hopped into the pool—wearing Coach, no less—to hang out with InStyle Editor-in-Chief Laura Brown while submerged waist-deep.

Selena Gomez has just designed a bag and a small accessories collection for Coach in collaboration with Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers. Her signature bag, the Selena Grace, has an important message. According to the brand, “Love yourself first” is embossed in Selena’s handwriting on the bottom of the handbag. We know this is the translation of the tattoo she has written in Arabic on her back. She got that tattoo in 2014. Of course, her ex boyfriend Justin Bieber released a song called “Love Yourself” in 2015. Selena has seemingly moved on from the Biebs, as she is now dating The Weeknd, and in an emotional new interview with InStyle for their September 2017 explained how she took the time she needed for herself by going away in 2014 and is a better person because of it. She’s taking the meaning of her tattoo to heart, and we’re so proud of her journey! This collaboration with Coach is a fashion-forward step for the singer. Her bag also features another inspiring message on the inside: “To be you is to be strong.”

How does an age-old American brand seek to spin sartorial gold out of a 75-year-old house? If we're talking about Coach, you recruit British designer Stuart Vevers to design cool, yet commercially viable ready-to-wear, which he did and continues to do since he began at Coach in 2013. Then, throw in a campaign with charming, all-American pop star Selena Gomez, who has a massive and loyal social media following. To finish it off, have the aforementioned singer, actress and sartorial starlet collaborate with the heritage leather-goods label. So, with that, may the fashion presses and tote-carrying people rejoice — Coach is launching an exclusive line of leather goods with Selena Gomez. Designed in collaboration with Vevers, the Coach x Selena Gomez collection contains a double-handled tote with gold hardware, a wristlet, a cardholder for the smaller essentials and some heart-shaped bag charms. As a whole, the line imbues the brand's classic luxury bags with a youthful new personality; the leather goods will be available in three exclusive colors: Selena Black Cherry, Selena White and an eye-popping Selena Red. But perhaps the collaboration's pièce de résistance is the Selena Grace, which is a reflection of Gomez's no-fuss, playful style. "It was really fun to create this collection with Selena and design pieces that are cool and feminine like her," Vevers said in a press statement. "When we designed the Selena Grace, it was about exploring the qualities Selena wanted in a bag and creating something that felt personal to her." The Selena Grace features Gomez’s personal touches: a hangtag bearing her signature and a story patch sewn inside with the message: "To be you is to be strong." The bag is further customized with "Love yourself first" in Selena's handwriting — a phrase inspired by one of her tattoos — embossed into the base of the bag. "I'm very excited for everyone to finally see the design Stuart and I worked on together," said Gomez. "I can’t wait to carry it — it's totally versatile, perfect to wear day-to-night and it goes with everything."

Selena Gomez recently turned 25—but in her mind, age ain't nothing but a number. "I kind of wish numbers didn't exist sometimes, because I feel like I'm 15 some days, and then other days I wake up and I'm 40," the "Fetish" singer tells InStyle's editor in chief Laura Brown in the September issue, on stands Aug. 11. "It's so weird, how one year can change everything. Last year I canceled my tour and went away for 90 days, and it was the best thing that I ever could've done. I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was amazing, and I learned a lot. Everything I cared about, I stopped caring about. I came out, and it felt like, 'OK, I can only go forward.' And there are still days. I go to therapy. I believe in that and talking about where you are. But I'm in a really, really healthy place."
