Currently the royal family is experiencing a surge of popularity in the Commonwealth countries, something they hope the Duke and Duchess can build on. According to a new report the royal tour is of such importance that Queen Elizabeth, William's grandmother is taking a personal interest and is advising the Duchess ahead of the trip. "Most importantly, the Queen can pass on her knowledge of the countries, their cultures, histories and the dos and donts of what to say and not say," a source told The Express. The 1984 tour undertaken by Prince Charles and Princess Diana is reportedly fresh in the monarch's mind and she's keen that both William and Kate share the spotlight on the trip. The royal insider went on: "Above all the Queen regards Catherine as the perfect partner for William and she thinks they are a great team. "She doesn't want to see a repeat of Charles and Diana when they toured Australia and the crowds were only interested in meeting Diana." Sir John Major, former prime minister, told the paper Kate should take any advice she can from the queen. "It isn't easy suddenly to find yourself the focus of world attention," he said, "It takes a lot to get used to but she has very good advice. He went on: "People forget the Queen may be a monarch but she's also a mother and a grandmother and a very human person. Of course she wants them to be successful and of course she offers help and they'd be foolish not to take it. "One can see what a good relationship exists."

Kate Middleton's younger sister discussed the ivory Alexander McQueen gown while speaking at a London event Tuesday night. Pippa Middleton has a sense of humor about the bridesmaid dress that made her a star. She discussed the famous gown she wore as her sister Kate's maid of honor at the 2011 royal wedding while speaking at a London dinner for the group Women in Advertising and Communications Tuesday night, according to E! Online. Speaking at the Women in Advertising and Communications dinner in London Tuesday, Pippa joked about being famous for her perky posterior. "As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and—you may say—its backside," the 30-year-old Celebrate author told the 400 attendees. Pippa said she was just "glad it fitted" at the time of the royal wedding, but added, "In retrospect, it fitted a little too well." This isn't the first time the Duchess of Cambridge's sister has addressed being the butt of the joke. "It is a bit startling to achieve global recognition before the age of 30 on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom," Pippa told the Mail on Sunday in 2012. "One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it's fair to say that it has its upside and its downside."

Prince William and Catherine, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will make their first overseas tour with baby George April 7-25, when they travel to New Zealand and Australia. Williams' parents, Prince Charles and Diana, went to Australia and New Zealand with William in tow for his first overseas trip at the same age 31 years ago. "It's a tremendously exciting visit," said Miguel Head, Prince William's private secretary. "One or two engagements ... have been identified as times when The Duke and Duchess may bring Prince George along, too." It's likely that after a peek at George getting off the plane in New Zealand we will have our first look at the growing heir to the throne at a welcome reception for parents at Government House in Wellington. "But George, being a little over 8 months old by the time they travel, I'm sure you will appreciate the couple have to make a final decision about that much closer to the time," Head said. A nanny will travel with the couple and Prince George, along with their private secretaries, Head and Rebecca Deacon; three press officers; a personal assistant; a hairdresser; an orderly; and, adviser Sir David Manning, who was ambassador to the U.S. from 2003 to 2007. George has been cared for by a part-time nanny, Jessica Webb, who was Prince William's nanny as a child. The young prince will have a full-time nanny along for this trip as the couple will spend several nights away from him.
