Preparing to take Prince George on his first royal tour next month is only part of the to-do list. Also on tap for Kate: preparing her and Prince William's country house, the 10-bedroom Anmer Hall, for their move-in. A sunlit garden room is now being added to one side of the house, and Kate, whose eye for design was honed during her years studying art history, is now sourcing all the interior details. "The property is being decorated, ready for occupation," Simon Knight, owner of Knights Oriental Rugs in Henley-on-Thames, tells PEOPLE. "Instead of hiring a royal interior designer, she wants to furnish it in her own style, because she wants this to be her own family home." Knight spent time with the Duchess of Cambridge when she visited his antique rug store in January and purchased several Turkish kilims – a type of flat tapestry woven carpet. "She was looking for things for bedrooms," he said, "so she wanted softer pastel shades rather than strong colors." After first doing her research online, she came into the store armed with the specific stock codes. "She knew exactly what she wanted to look at, as she had looked at my website," said Knight. "She is very hands-on and down-to-earth, helping to get things out. She really wants to be involved."

As she celebrates her first Mother's Day, Kate Middleton has been busy telling people she's "very excited". The new parents are about to embark on their first overseas tour with Prince George and everything seems to be falling into place. The royal parents felt confident enough to leave their baby in her capable hands as they holidayed at a five star resort in the Maldives. Mothering Sunday will no doubt be spent quietly either in Kensington Palace or more likely at the Middleton family home in Berkshire so the Duchess of Cambridge can congratulate her own mother Carole. Thoughtful William has probably picked out a gift for his wife. By her own admission Kate is "very well looked after" by her Prince and he is reported to have given her an eternity ring on George's birth. Prince William and Kate Middleton missed an important milestone in their son's life while on their first baby-free holiday earlier this month. The Duke, 31, and the Duchess, 32, were away on vacation when 8-month-old Prince George crawled for the very first time. The seminal moment for their little one occurred while the royal couple were enjoying some well-deserved R&R at the Maldives' five-star Cheval Blanc Randheli resort in early March. During their weeklong getaway, Prince George stayed with his maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton, at their home in Bucklebury, England. Fortunately for the Duke and Duchess, their little heir still has plenty of big firsts ahead of him. "William and Kate are excited about the many milestones ahead," the insider tells Us. "George already has a tiny tooth coming in. And his cheeks are chubbier than ever!" "She's the first foreign nanny to look after a future British monarch," a second source tells Us Weekly of the Spanish-born Borrallo, 43, who was trained at London's Norland College. Adds a palace rep: "The Duke and Duchess are of course delighted she has chosen to join them."

The public have been given another window into the upbringing of Prince George with a new official family photograph showing the eight-month-old royal with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their pet dog Lupo. The happy family portrait was taken by Jason Bell, who photographed Prince George's christening. The young family are seen posing out of a window at their home in London's Kensington Palace in the first official photo of Prince George since his christening last October. Prince George can be seen wearing a powder blue jumper with his own name across it. The young prince is seen wearing a jumper with his name emblazoned across it and gazing at the family's black cocker spaniel, while his parents fix their eyes on the camera.

The Duke of Cambridge has been studying agricultural management at the historic university since January, but his ten-week course has been interrupted by royal duties in the UK and abroad. Student newspaper The Tab claimed today that the Prince graduated with a third-class honours degree - putting him in the bottom 15th percentile of attendees. The Tab spoke to Wills’ Director of Studies, Dr Canniedo, who said: “It was always difficult for Prince William to balance his royal and family obligation with his studies. We did everything we could to help him in this regard.” The Tab has gained exclusive access to a copy of the Prince’s degree certificate, demonstrating Wills’ poor performance. This comes after his father, the first heir to the throne ever to obtain a degree, achieved a lower second-class honours. Next month, William plans to jet off for a three week tour of Australia and New Zealand, a welcome distraction perhaps. The Tab can also reveal, contrary to the lack of reporting on Wills’ activities, that he spent much time socialising with a small group of classmates. n defiance of the University’s ban on paid work, Wills also obtained a job at the Foreign Office.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was a sight for sore eyes as she and Prince William landed in Wellington, New Zealand on the first day of a three-week royal tour of NZ and neighbouring Australia. Kate was a true representative for the royals as she stepped off the plane in a red dress coat by British designer Catherine Walker, a matching pillbox hat belonging to Prince William's late mother Diana Princess of Wales and a diamond and platinum fern brooch borrowed from the Queen. A Royal New Zealand Air Force jet had carried the family from OZ on the last three hours of their 30 hour journey from the UK, but thanks to the handiwork of her on-board hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker (who is being paid for by her father-in-law Prince Charles) the Duchess' infamous flowing locks looked salon-worthy, despite the miserable damp weather. It was one of the few occasions that the public were able to see baby George. While Kensington Palace identified one or two times when Prince William and Kate could bring along their son to engagements, it is expected that George will be in the safe hands of his nanny for the majority of the trip. The royal family was accompanied by the rest of their entourage, which included Prince William's private secretary Miguel Head, Kate's private secretary Rebecca Deacon, Sir David Manning, three press officers, a tour secretary, a personal assistant, a hairdresser and an orderly to help manage logistics.
