Turns out, the surprise was two new cinnamon and caramel iced macchiatos that are apparently so "light and fluffy they're basically a cloud in a cup." The "cloud" part of the drink is a foam that contains egg whites so you can feel extra fancy when you're running 15 minutes late. http://instagram.com/p/BuoRMEbnwzp Ariana Grande and Starbucks are out here on Twitter and Instagram teasing a collaboration you never knew you needed. On Monday, Starbucks started tweeting some cryptic messages about finding out your “cloud name” along with a picture of a cloud with hidden messages that said “thank you, next” and “tomorrow you’ll be smiling real smiles.”

The Ariana Grande-inspired Cloud Macchiato, Starbucks’s latest attempt to create an Instagram-able beverage and connect with the youth, is definitely not vegan. The ingredients list, per BuzzFeed, reveals that the “cloud powder” (which makes the drink fluffier than a regular macchiato) and the caramel sauce both contain animal by-products. Which means if Ariana Grande is still keeping up with dietary changes she made in 2013, even she can’t drink it. Scandal! In November 2013, Grande tweeted that while she ate “minimal” meat anyway, she had decided to go “100% vegan.” In an interview with the Mirror, she elaborated that she loves “animals more than I love most people” and that she is a “firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.” This is not ironclad evidence that Grande still keeps a vegan diet—I’m a “firm believer” that taking a 20-minute walk every day will make me happier person, but I don’t do it every day. But maybe she is, because while promoting the Cloud Macchiato, she suggested her fans try the “#trythesoyversion.”

It's been a whirlwind of a year for pop princess Ariana Grande. First she dropped "Thank U, Next," her second album within a six month period that instantly became a cultural phenomenon. Then she kicked off a massive world tour and soon after, headlined Coachella. And who could forget her signature Starbucks drink — the Cloud Macchiato, in both caramel and cinnamon flavors — that had us drinking all the sweetener for months! Ari continues to push the limits, break down boundaries, and give us reason after reason to stan her till the end of time. And now, the music superstar is adding beauty legend to her long list of accomplishments. At last night's Fragrance Foundation Awards, Ariana took home to honor of Fragrance of the Year: Women's Popular Award for her latest fragrance, Cloud Eau de Parfum. Ariana first teased the product last September before launching it with Ulta Beauty soon after. Up against Ariana for the award were Britney Spears' Prerogative, KKW Body, Victoria’s Secret Tease Rebel, and Wild Spirit Fragrances Driftwood Eau de Parfum. Clearly it was a tough competition.
