Even the leader of the Katycats is part of the Beyhive. Katy Perry went on record to proclaim her love for Beyoncé, correcting Time Out London magazine, when asked how she feels about being the pop music queen, nabbing number one hits since her appearance on the music scene in 2008.
"It kind of embarrasses me because I don't feel that way. I have pinch-me moments, sure, but Beyoncé is the biggest pop star in the world so don't be blasphemous," she said. Perry continued, "I hope [I'm an empathetic pop star]. I work really hard; I work myself into this state. But Beyoncé's an icon and bionic, almost. I bet she doesn't get sick ever!"
While the "Dark Horse" singer saluted Queen Bey, she thinks her fans gravitate to her down-to-earth realness. "My relatability, I think," she said, when asked about her strengths as a pop star. "That and my openness to vulnerability. And just the general good-time fun. And, possibly - not to keep going on - the kind of inspirational zest you can get from the songs."

The Roar singer is currently on her The Prismatic World Tour, and is wowing audiences with both her pop anthem performances and jaw-dropping stage costumes. Her wardrobe includes a leopard print cat outfit, an Egyptian queen look and a firework dress. Changing from one to the other can be a daunting experience, but Katy says she's got it down to a fine art. "No chafing as yet," she laughed to Time Out London magazine. "I wish I could take a bunch of people into my quick change because it's insane in there. It's like Formula 1! And if you don't change it right, well you don't recover from that. You have to hobble along." Far from indulging in the glitz and glamour of her pop persona away from the cameras, Katy says she's just a normal girl from California who got lucky. She likes nothing more than to get off stage and take off her heavy make-up, and the 29-year-old just enjoys being herself. "Every day when I take off my make-up I'm totally normcore. I'm so normal. I'm trying to do something abnormal and extraordinary and it's obviously killing me but I'm going to push myself," she revealed. "When I first played London it was [pub] Water Rats: this isn't Water Rats any more, you guys. That was a fun show, but this is a bit different." One person who is glad of Katy's extravagant stage personality is fashion designer Alexis Mabille, who created some of her show stopping tour wardrobe. “She’s cool because she loves colour, she’s open minded, and she’s really a show girl. She loves going far away and has very strong views. She loves fashion, she really plays the game of being a woman,” Alexis recently gushed to People.

Katy Perry has offered to write a campaign theme song for former US Secretary of State and potential 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. Perry extended the offer on her Twitter account, and shared a picture of the two together at a recent meeting.
"I told @hillaryclinton that I would write her a 'theme' song if she needs it," Perry wrote. Clinton — who has not yet officially declared her candidacy for 2016 — responded with a message praising Perry's music on Sunday (June 22). The politician has been on the press circuit in promotion of her new book Hard Choices. Perry recently launched her own record label.

With the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks tied at 14 - 14 at halftime during the big game, Katy Perry brought her A-game and multiple outfit changes to the University of Phoenix Stadium. She started things off in a most epic way while wearing a flame colored suit and riding out riding on mechanical lion to her massive hit "Roar."
Along with some incredible 3-D graphics, next came "Dark Horse," while dancers moved alongside Perry. Rock legend Lenny Kravitz joined her onstage for her first hit, "I Kissed a Girl." Perry switched up the scenery for a beach theme and sang her mega-hits "Teenage Dream" and "California Gurls" along side dancing dolphins and beachballs.
Next up was a surprise (sort of), when Missy Elliott took the stage with Perry. She had a set that included “Lose Control,” “Work It,” and “Get Your Freak On.” It was especially surprising given that she and Katy don’t necessarily have a huge history as collaborators. However, it was so good to see Missy back in action.
Perry closed the show a rendition of her smash hit “Firework” while flying through the air. It was a very bold way to conclude the show, but also a pretty awesome one.
