#CarrieUnderwood shocked fans by announcing she was stepping away from her hosting gig at the #CMAAwards, but why? That's one of 5 burning questions Taste of Country's Billy Dukes answers in this video. 0:40 - Why Carrie Underwood stepped away 1:30 - Does it have anything to do with not winning the Entertainer of the Year? 2:33 - Why do you think Carrie knew she was done before the 2019 show? 3:00 - Who choses the next CMA host? 3:20 - Who's going to host the 2020 CMA Awards? http://instagram.com/p/B6tSXTTlCYg The turn of the decade will see a major change for the country music community: After 12 consecutive years of hosting the annual CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood is leaving her post — and fans suspect there's bad blood behind the decision. Underwood made the announcement in an upbeat Instagram post this week, simply saying that "it's hard to imagine topping" the past decade-plus of shows, "so I've decided that it’s time to pass the hosting torch (at least for now!) to others that will cherish it and honor it as much as I do." http://instagram.com/p/B6lkMUhFFeF Although Underwood didn't allude to any iciness between herself and the Country Music Association, many fans are drawing a connection to its 2019 choice for Entertainer of the Year. Underwood was nominated for the night's biggest award, as were Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban. Brooks won, breaking his own record for most wins of the category. "Sad to see you go, but perhaps the CMA will now recognize you for what you deserve," one top comment read.

http://instagram.com/p/CAAo_M0Ft57 The country superstar took to Instagram on Saturday to share a playful picture of herself, showing off her abs in a cute bikini. Writing that she is "pool ready," the "Love Wins" singer is seen smiling wide, wearing a floppy hat, a floral top and red bathing suit bottoms. "Is it summer yet? ☀️ #PoolReady #ChooseYou," Underwood captioned her fun selfie. Her post was quickly filled with fans telling her she looks beautiful, as well as how much they love her. http://instagram.com/p/CAiYLf0lcMp Underwood has been staying fit amid quarantine, sharing pics of herself in the gym and wearing the cutest workout clothes. In March, she told Women's Health that she fits in time to sweat whenever she can, something that's not always easy thanks to being a busy mom with her two boys -- Jacob, 1, and Isaiah, 5. "If I can work out seven days a week -- which doesn’t happen, but if I can -- I’m going to. Because the next week, I might get two days," she shared. "... I’d love to sit in a bubble bath, but that’s not going to happen. My self-care is my gym time, and that’s a stress reliever for me."

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher have been relatively quiet during this coronavirus quarantine, and now we think we know why: they’ve been working on a short, four-part film series for I Am Second.
It’s called Mike and Carrie: God & Country, and it will premiere on Wednesday (May 27) on iamsecond.com and will continue with weekly episodes through June 17. It will be their own personal outpouring of #WednesdayWisdom.
In the series trailer, Underwood admits that she always swore she’d never marry a hunter before she met Fisher. “As a child, never, not in a million years. We just differ drastically,” Underwood admits. And after their storybook wedding in 2010, when their first son Isaiah came along in 2015, she recalls thinking, “Oh my gosh. I’m in love,” she said. But after Isaiah’s birth came three miscarriages, and Underwood explains how that was when she chose to lean into her faith instead of away from it. “I just had an honest conversation with God. I was hurt,” she says through her tears, “and I told Him how I felt.”
According to a press release about the series, the show will giver viewers an up-close and unfiltered glimpse into Underwood and Fisher’s life together, their relationship and faith, along with some much-needed inspiration on how they continue to sustain their marriage and find purpose beyond their careers as a country singer and a retired NHL player.

Carrie Underwood's first Christmas album will be a mix of traditional favorites and originals, with an emphasis on faith and the spiritual nature of Christmas. The album — titled My Gift — is set for release on Sept. 25. In a video shared with fans on YouTube, the singer reveals "Little Drummer Boy" as one of the key traditional songs on her new album. That song helped her find the right title for the project. "I love music, I love singing," she says. "That is my personal gift that I have that I get to do ... and I want to use that gift and I want to give it back to Jesus." Underwood first revealed she was working on a Christmas album in June, during a virtual fan club party. The announcement of My Gift comes with a few details, but no tracklisting, list of songwriters or special guests, although it seems likely there will be some revealed later. Greg Wells produced My Gift. He's best known for albums by Adele, Celine Dion and The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
