The 3-year-old George, wearing red shorts and a blue sweater with knee-high blue socks, enthusiastically waved to the crowd with both hands on Saturday just before he, his sister and their parents boarded a sea plane at a departure ceremony at the end of an official tour of Western Canada. The shy future king declined a high-five and hand shake of a flower boy named Daniel Brachman. He looked toward his dad Prince William instead. When George arrived a week ago at the Victoria airport, he also left Trudeau hanging on a high-five and a handshake. The departure ceremony on Saturday offered the only chance for public crowds to see George and 1-year-old Charlotte on the trip. The media had access to them two other times — at the airport arrival ceremony and a children's party for military families.

"It very much feels that they are following a family tradition, putting George in similar clothes to what Prince Harry and Prince William wore when they were younger," says Lucy Enfield, co-founder of Wild & Gorgeous – whose sweater George wore at the Government House garden party. "But I think Kate does it with a lot of charm and in a very sweet way." "Of course its really thrilling to see your jumper on Prince George. It's so exciting," says Worthington, who revealed that they sent a package of several jumpers to the palace about three weeks before the tour started. "We knew they had bought some pieces from us, so we were hoping he might wear one of them in Canada – we were keeping an eye out, but to suddenly see it on him like that was really great."
