As for how she hopes this shift in perception will affect her future, the songstress said she has a lot of ambitions.
"I want to be known as a serious adult artist. I want to be able to act my age as a 20-year-old. I want to be able to write music that will be taken seriously," she shared. "I want to act, and maybe model… and make fashion stuff, like a clothing line, perfume, you name it. I want to be able to do anything and everything... I think that this experience has made my options even more limitless."
Ultimately, The Masked Singer proved to be an unforgettable experience, unlike anything -- even other reality competition shows -- she's been a part of in the past.
"I went into this having no idea how it was going to be, because there's no other show like it. You don't walk around in a mask for America's Got Talent," Evancho said, adding, "It was awesome, and I loved every second of it. I would definitely do it again."
On Thursday, Evancho spoke with ET's Deidre Behar and Charlie O'Keefe via video chat, where she elaborated on why she was attracted to performing on the wild and wonderfully surreal Fox singing competition.
"I think it was the fact that this show is so original and, you know, weird. And me and my family, we love weird stuff. So that really, really pushed me to do it," she explained. "As well as the fact that, like, it was the perfect opportunity for me to clear my slate as the girl who is 10 years old and a big singer."
"That was the goal of the show for me: reinvention," she reiterated. "It is hard because I want to be taken seriously."
According to Evancho, her childhood fame has stuck with her, and it has manifested in some very unfortunate ways. Apart from fans expecting it from her music, the songstress said a lot of fans expect that child-like virtue from her as a person as well, and have gotten vocal when she shows a different side of herself as an adult.
"You know, for years I would post a photo of me in even just a tank top, and I would get comments like, 'Where's Jackie gone? This is not the Jackie we know!' Well, of course not, I'm 20," she added. "[But] I can't act my age."
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
