The Canadian singer is reminiscing on the pre-pandemic days of touring in her new song "Me and the Boys in the Band," a tribute to her fast-paced former lifestyle. "Driving all night to make that show / I'll be a whole new girl tomorrow / It's a new city, so pretty, eyes closed," she sings in the glittery new track. To accompany (and juxtapose) the release, Jepsen unveiled a video for the song chilling at home, with her band safely dancing along from their respective living spaces and photos from their tour together weaving across the screen. “On the road. That was the life. I miss travel and performing and my band mates who over the years have become my adopted brothers,” said Jepsen in a press statement. “Through romantic relationships good and bad I have always found myself again in the late-night conversations with my band. Here’s to all the shows we have played and have yet to play. The late-night dancers we turn into on the long bus drives and the tourists we become in the early mornings. Here’s to nostalgia city and keeping close the ones that know you best. Can’t wait for more. Till then a from home 'pick me up' song from all of us to you. Me and the boys and the band! Big thanks to Jack Antonoff, Tavish Crowe, Jared Manerika and Nik Pesut for making this jam come together from a distance.”

Carly Rae Jepsen has announced a deluxe version of her cult hit album Emotion for its 5th anniversary featuring two bonus tracks, “Never Get to Hold You” and “Love Again.”
Both tracks represent the best of Emotion‘s ecstatic synth-pop: “Never Get to Hold You” is a simmering dance floor-friendly ballad that explodes on the chorus, while “Love Again” is a bubbly jam about finding love again.
“It’s been such a joy to share so many beautiful memories from this record with you,” Jepsen wrote on Twitter.
Both tracks leaked online back in 2015, but they’ve officially received the Side B treatment from Jepsen. (In 2016, Jepsen released nine Emotion bonus tracks as Emotion Side B, and she did the same this year for her 2019 album Dedicated.) And if that wasn’t enough for an Emotion birthday celebration, Jepsen will be hosting a virtual karaoke party for the album on Thursday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. ET from her YouTube page.
