Prince William has publicly addressed the health of his grandfather Prince Philip. William, 38, exchanged a few words on Monday with longstanding royals photographer Arthur Edwards, who asked him how Philip, 99, was doing. "He's okay," said William. "They're keeping an eye on him." Philip was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London on February 16 after "feeling unwell," the palace said. William spoke with Edwards at a vaccine center in Norfolk, not far from his country home, Anmer Hall, where he and wife Kate Middleton and their children have been living during the latest U.K. lockdown. Philip had been expected to remain in the hospital for a few days but on Friday, a royal source told PEOPLE that he would stay there into this week. "Following consultation with his doctor, the Duke of Edinburgh is likely to remain in hospital for observation and rest over the weekend and into next week," the source said. "The doctor is acting with an abundance of caution. The Duke remains in good spirits." Palace sources stressed after Tuesday's admission to the hospital that this was not an emergency admission and that Philip walked into the hospital unaided. The illness is not COVID-19-related. Philip had a visit from his eldest son Prince Charles, 72, on Saturday. Charles was photographed arriving at the hospital, via a rear entrance, wearing a gray suit and a face mask.

Buckingham Palace on Tuesday revealed the cause of Prince Philip’s hospitalization, a week after the 99-year-old royal was admitted to the hospital. “The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII’s Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection,” the palace said in a statement shared with HuffPost. “He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave hospital for several days.” Sources close to the palace previously confirmed that the duke’s illness was not related to COVID-19. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth got their first COVID-19 vaccination in January. Prince Edward told Sky News on Tuesday that his father is “a lot better.” “He’s looking forward to getting out, which is the most positive thing, so we keep our fingers crossed,” the Earl of Wessex said. When asked if his father was frustrated in the hospital, Edward laughed and said “just a bit.” “I think that gets to all of us, and then, you can only watch the clock so many times and the walls are only so interesting,” he said. “We’ve had some brilliant and lovely messages from all sorts of people, and we really appreciate that and so does he,” the early added. “I’ve been passing them on. It’s fantastic, thank you.”

The Palace doctors sent the Duke, 99, to hospital on February 16 after he complained of feeling unwell. Issuing an update of Philip’s condition, the Palace said the Duke was to remain in hospital for “several days” more.
They said: “The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII's Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection.
“He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave hospital for several days.”
Initially, the Duke was meant to spend just a few days in King Edward VII’s for “observation and rest”.
Prince Edward, youngest son of the Duke, said his father was “a lot better” after ten days in King Edward VII’s hospital.
But the Earl of Wessex told Sky News on Tuesday: “As far as I'm aware, well I did speak to him the other day, so he's a lot better thank you very much indeed, and he's looking forward to getting out, which is the most positive thing. So we keep our fingers crossed."
He then added when asked whether Philip was irritated in hospital: “Just a bit!
“I think that gets to all of us, and then, you can only watch the clock so many times and the walls are only so interesting."
Queen Elizabeth II, 94, remains at Windsor Castle while Philip stays in hospital, where the monarch has been isolating during England’s third coronavirus lockdown.
A royal insider spoke to Us Weekly and said the Queen is “leaning on her loved ones for support” while the Duke stays in hospital.
They added: “It’s a lot to take on, but as usual, Elizabeth is handling the stress and sadness with dignity.

Prince Philip hasn't quite got the hang of Zoom, Prince Harry said during a wide-ranging talk with James Corden on "The Late Late Show." Harry told Corden that his grandmother, the Queen, had bought his son, Archie, a waffle maker for Christmas. The host then asked whether the Queen knew how to use Zoom. "Yes, both my grandparents do," Harry said. Corden replied, "This is crazy!" Harry added: "We've Zoomed them a few times. They've seen Archie running around." Harry laughed as he recalled their Zoom calls and said that instead of leaving the meeting, Philip would slam his laptop shut. "He just goes 'doof'!" Harry said, mimicking shutting a laptop. Last week, Philip, who's 99, was admitted to the hospital because of an infection. He's expected to remain there for several days. Buckingham Palace said in a statement to Insider that he was "comfortable and responding to treatment."
