KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch joined BABYMETAL on stage — his face painted in the same white-and-black makeup as the Japanese act's backing band — on June 25 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho. Official video footage from KORN, as well as a couple of fan-filmed clips, of the collaboration can be seen below. BABYMETAL was one of the support acts on KORN's "The Serenity Of Summer" tour, also featuring STONE SOUR, YELAWOLF and ISLANDER. KORN's latest album, "The Serenity Of Suffering", came out at the end of October. The track "A Different World" features a guest appearance from SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor.

Corey Taylor has revealed that his son Griffin got him listening to Babymetal. The vocalist says he wasn’t aware of the band until Griffin persuaded the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman to listen to their music – with Taylor saying his son’s enthusiasm for the Japanese trio was infectious. Taylor tells Junkee: “He’s such a big music fan. He’s actually the one that got me into Babymetal! I’d never heard of them, and he comes running up to me and is like, ‘You gotta check this out.’

The young Japanese phenoms of Babymetal have won Most Dedicated Fans at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards. Like Babymetal fans have become infamous for, they turned out in massive numbers to support the teen act. The Babymetal phenomenon has been impossible to ignore not only in the metal world, but in the entertainment world. When metalheads began stumbling upon photos of Babymetal earlier this decade, there’s no way they could have expected the incredible quality of the band’s music. With two acclaimed albums setting the world ablaze, Babymetal have worked their way to playing arenas and stadiums around the world, both opening for iconic acts and headlining their own shows. The BMG and Rise-sponsored Most Dedicated Fans category received one of the highest turnouts for any of the 2017 LMAs category. With the number of votes reaching six figures, Babymetal were the decisive winners, defeating Iron Maiden, Blink-182, Rammstein, Halestorm and I Prevail.

Japanese pop metal act BABYMETAL performed without one of its three female singers this past weekend. 18-year-old Yui Mizuno (a.k.a. Yuimetal) did not feel well and doctors suggested that it was in her best interest to not join her bandmates on stage on December and December 3 at Green Arena in Hiroshima, Japan. BABYMETAL's management said in a statement: "As an entire team, we considered canceling this performance. However, it was Yuimetal's strong desire to not cancel this performance for the fans who were waiting and looking forward to these performances. After long discussions and careful consideration, both Su-Metal and Moametal, as well as the entire BABYMETAL staff team, came to a final conclusion to continue these performances for the dedicated fans who have been waiting for this special event as well as for team BABYMETAL."
