Linoy Ashram of Israel and the group of Bulgaria won the all-around titles at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup here on Saturday evening.
In the individual all-around event, Ashram gained 98.450 points, closely followed by Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria with 98.250, while Alina Harnasko of Belarus took the bronze with 96.150.
The hosts lifted the title with 84.350 points in the all-around group, followed by Azerbaijan with 70.950 and Japan with 70.650.
As many as 60 individual gymnasts and 11 groups from 35 countries and regions participate in the first FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in more than a year.
The competition ending on Sunday with the apparatus finals serves as an Olympic qualifier for individual gymnasts, along with the World Cups to come in Tashkent of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Baku and Pesaro in Italy. Enditem
Bulgaria's top rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn broke her career winless streak at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in style by clinching three gold medals on the final day at the World Cup stop in Sofia on Sunday (28 March).
The 20-year-old had won 12 career World Cup medals, but had never set foot on the top step of the podium at a World Cup event before today.
Beginning with the hoop final, Kaleyn was faced with the daunting prospect of having to out-perform Israel's European all-around champion Linoy Ashram.
That she did admirably, out-scoring Ashram (26.100) by five-hundredths of a point. Belarus's Anastasiia Salos received the same score as Ashram, but took hoops silver on the execution score tie-breaker.
Salos would also clinch bronze in the ribbon final.
Ashram took the second gold medal of the day in the ball final with the strongest routine.
The Israeli scored 26.500 points, with Belarus's Alina Harnasko more than half a point back in silver (25.850). Kaleyn took bronze in that event.
But Kaleyn ensured a fantastic day for herself and the hosts with two more wins, in the clubs and the ribbon finals.
Her teammate Katrin Taseva also won bronze in the clubs, but there was joy for Italian 16-year-old Sofia Raffaeli.
Raffaeli, who trains at the same club as Milena Baldassari, took silver in the clubs and bronze in the ribbon in her senior international debut.
