Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall Arrive For Prince Philip's Funeral Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall were among the members of the Royal Family to arrive at Windsor Castle on Saturday ahead of the funeral for Prince Philip. Because of coronavirus restrictions only 30 mourners will attend the funeral service, including Queen Elizabeth II, her four children and her eight grandchildren. Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are saying goodbye to their beloved grandfather. The sisters joined members of the royal family at Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. Eugenie, 31, was joined by her husband Jack Brooksbank, while Beatrice, 33, was accompanied by her husband of nine months, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Earlier this week, Princess Eugenie shared a touching tribute to Prince Philip, who she called simply "Grandpa," on Instagram. "I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy," she wrote. "I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer."

Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice greet the Queen with deep curtsy at funeral service Royal women typically greet the monarch with a curtsy Princess Beatrice and the Duchess of Cambridge were among the royal women who were seen curtsying to the Queen at Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday. The ladies showed their respect for the monarch as they bobbed down into a low curtsy, with Beatrice bending particularly deeply, as they saw the Queen emerge from her car ahead of the service. Royal ladies normally curtsy and bow their head in public if they're seeing Her Majesty for the first time that day. For men, the greeting is normally a neck bow. Usually, if they don't greet the Queen in this typical, respectful way, it's because they've already seen her in private. The Queen was comforted and supported by her children and grandchildren, as well as some of the Duke's closest friends. The total guest list was limited to 30 people due to coronavirus restrictions, although the funeral was originally planned for 800 attendees. While Her Majesty entered the chapel with Kate, Beatrice and other royal family members including Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall and the Countess of Wessex, her children walked behind Prince Philip's coffin in the funeral procession. Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward made up part of the procession, as well as Peter Phillips, Prince William, Prince Harry, Anne's husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and the Earl of Snowdon.

'How Prince Philip's Funeral Was Very Different To Others From Royal History' Against the backdrop of a global pandemic, Prince Philip was laid to rest in a royal funeral like no other. While the guestlist was initially planned to include 800 names, only 30 attended the ceremony. Royal news: Prince Philip was introduced to Princess Elizabeth when she was 13 and he 18 (Image: GETTY) QUEEN Elizabeth II met Prince in July 1939, in Dartmouth. At the time Princess Elizabeth was only 13, and her future husband 18. Today is Prince Philip's birthday, and he turns age 99. Philip was charged with entertaining Elizabeth and her younger sister Princess Margaret, and suggested they jump nets on the tennis courts. Elizabeth is thought to have marvelled to her governess about how high Philip, who was in the navy, could jump. Later they played croquet, which is when a photographer took a picture of the pair, alone for the first time. She revealed that Prince Philip seemed "awkward" at the meeting, and was probably "less enthusiastic" about looking after the young girls.
