SpaceX conducted the second test launch of its largest rocket and spacecraft ever, Starship, in Texas on the morning of the 18th, US central time. After the spacecraft was launched, it separated from the rocket and went into space, but after that the signal was lost. Meanwhile, the rocket exploded in mid-air immediately after detaching.
Starship was launched from SpaceX's Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas, just after 7 a.m. local time on the 18th.
Approximately 3 minutes after liftoff, the spacecraft successfully ignited its engine and separated from the rocket. However, the rocket that was scheduled to land on the ocean exploded in midair.
The spacecraft then gained altitude and was flying through space when it lost its signal, the company said. "We believe (the spacecraft) may have been lost," the company said.
