The track, Kid Rock’s first new music since 2017, sees him team up with Canadian rock band Monster Truck on a pseudo-cover of their 2015 track, also called ‘Don’t Tell Me How To Live’.
“A nation of pussies is our next generation,” Kid Rock says on the new track, which comes complete with a video that sees him wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan: “Social media sucks.”
He adds: “These minions and their agendas, every opinion has a millennial offended,” before rapping: “So what the fuck’s up with all the backlash/ you snowflakes here’s a news flash: ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live.”

Kid Rock went all out for his new music video for his single “Don’t Tell Me How to Live” featuring Monster Truck, and he surely isn’t holding back on the, er, imagery. The video is full of wild scenes and lyrics, including the musician riding a middle finger and penis-shaped rocket, a mountain of TV screens showing the news and the 50-year-old rapping erratically inside churches. Rock also compares himself to actor Brad Pitt and other screen legends such as Bruce Springsteen and James Dean in the song. “I’m like Reverend Run or David Lee Roth / Like Springsteen b – – ch, I’m the motherf – – king boss / James Dean, s – – t, I’m more like Brad Pitt,” he sings in the video. The “All Summer Long” crooner also notes that he’s a “little less pretty” than Pitt, 57, also adding that he “slings more d – – k” than the actor. Pitt, naturally, has not responded to the lyrics. “F – – k all you hoes,” Rock yells on the track. “Detroit till I die motherf – – ker!”
