Billionaire Elon Musk donated about $75 million to America PAC, a pro-Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump, in the three months from July to September, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings released on the 15th.
America PAC is focused on reaching voters in battleground states and has spent about $72 million in the three months, more than any other similar pro-Trump super PAC.
The Trump campaign has relied extensively on outside groups to reach voters, meaning that America PAC, which Musk founded, is playing a major role in the close presidential election.

Elon Musk's SpaceX has filed a lawsuit alleging that the agency that oversees land and water use along California's coastline has rejected Musk's request to increase the number of launches in the state because of his political views.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Los Angeles on October 15, accuses the California Coastal Commission of "blatant political discrimination" against Musk. The commission last week rejected an Air Force proposal to increase SpaceX's launches from Vandenberg Space Force Base from 36 to 50 per year.
SpaceX claims that the commission exceeded its authority in "punishing the company" for Musk's political views and statements. Commission members were concerned about "disturbing reports" that Musk "actively meddled in the presidential election" and spread conspiracy theories on social media, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed on the 21st (local time) that his recent support for Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump has greatly increased the risk of him being assassinated.
Musk said through his X (formerly Twitter) account, "The risk of me being assassinated has increased dramatically," and "participating in politics is not what I want. I don't want to die." This is what he said during a Trump campaign in Pennsylvania.
Musk posted a video of his remarks along with a screenshot of an online page with the title of an English article from German media outlet Der Spiegel and a composite photo.
The photo was a composite image of Musk's face with part of it torn out, revealing Trump's face peeking through the tear, and the caption read, "Enemy number two."

(Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has issued a written warning to billionaire Elon Musk's campaign to give $1 million to registered voters through a super PAC (political action committee) that it may violate federal law, according to a person familiar with the matter.
According to the letter, the Department of Justice warned America PAC, which Musk founded to support former President Trump in the presidential election. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the letter has not been made public. The letter is said to contain information about actions that are and are not permitted under election law.

On the 19th of this month, the state of Pennsylvania, the biggest battleground state, announced that it would give $1 million (approximately 150 million yen) to one person per day (until the election day) by lottery from among registered voters who signed Musk's petition calling for "free speech and gun rights."
This will be done through America PAC, a political organization Musk set up to support Trump. On the same day, the first winner was revealed at a local town hall meeting attended by Musk.
Under US federal law, it is illegal (as bribery) to give money or goods to vote in an election or to register to vote (violators may be subject to prison sentences).
However, in this case, since Musk (and his America PAC) recruited registered voters to sign the petition for "free speech and gun rights" and gave them money, Musk and his supporters at least seem to consider it legal.
