America’s Got Talent winner, Grace VanderWaal is very busy these days. She performed in Las Vegas and has an album underway. She’s also getting ready to appear on Cyndi Lauper’s holiday show.
We can never get tired of listening to Grace VanderWaal’s amazing voice accompanied only by her ukelele. The “Next Taylor Swift” has a host of performances and appearances lined up for the coming weeks. The America’s Got Talent season 11 winner will perform at Planet Hollywood resort in Las Vegas for four nights. She’s also making post-AGT appearances, and performing on several talk shows. She’ll also take part in Cyndi Lauper’s annual holiday show.
Twelve-year-old VanderWaal will headline the America’s Got Talent Live show at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino from October 27 to October 30 at 7:30 p.m. She has been diligently practicing for her debut concert, and has teased her fans on social media with clips from practice.
Grace VanderWaal became a household mainstay when she competed on and won America's Got Talent. Her talent? Singing...and writing original songs...and playing them on the ukulele. It's no wonder she earned immediate comparisons to Taylor Swift, and like the powerhouse singer-songwriter that came before her, the teen is showing no signs of slowing down.
The singer announced today that she would be releasing her first EP, Perfectly Imperfect, on December 2. To celebrate the reveal, she tweeted out a slick rendition of the cover art, which features a muted photo of Grace with colorful artwork extending from her left eye. This, the art suggests, is how she sees the world. It's paired with a snippet of a song that will be on the EP.
If you can't wait until next month, preorders of the EP will start on November 18 (as in, this Friday!) and come with an instant download of the song that captured the world's attention when she auditioned with it: "I Don't Know My Name." It's safe to say, however, that everyone knows Grace's name now.
America's Got Talent is ringing in the holiday season with its very first holiday special next month.
Season 11 winner Grace VanderWaal -- who will once again entertain audiences on her ukulele with a special holiday selection -- will headline the America's Got Talent Holiday Spectacular, airing 8 p.m. EST Dec. 19 on NBC. The 12-year old sensation will be joined by a who's who of AGT fan favorites, including crooner Sal Valentinetti, who will be joined by judge Heidi Klum for a seasonal treat of his own.
Other performers on the bill include Brian Justin Crum, The Clairvoyants, Mat Franco, Philadelphia Eagle magician Jon Dorenbos, Jackie Evancho, Calysta Bevier, The Silhouettes, Ronee Martin, Piff the Magic Dragon, Terry Fator, Olate Dogs, The Regurgitator, Professor Splash and celebrity guest appearances by Pentatonix, Andra Day, and Penn & Teller.
America's Got Talent winner Grace Vanderwaal may only be 12, but she's just weeks away from releasing her debut major label EP, Perfectly Imperfect (Dec. 2). To celebrate that monumental career moment, the ukulele-strumming tween dropped the lyric video for her first official, "I Don't Know My Name," on Friday (Nov. 18).
The video is a montage of hand-drawn photos of the singer that unfold on a series of Polaroid snaps, all of which look like the kind of notebook doodles that are fitting for the young rising star with the powerfully scratchy voice and lyrical wisdom far beyond her years. Feathering her breathy voice over the mellowed-down acoustic accompaniment, the soft-spoken ballad details the young singer's search for her identity "in an ocean of people". She begins her journey by saying "I don't know my name, I don't play by the rules of the game" but later discovers what she's been searching for. "I now know my name, I don't play by the rules of the game/ So you say, I'm not trying," she belts as she closes out the song. "But I'm trying to find my way."
Along with "Hello Kitty" and "Elf on The Shelf" another cultural phenom will make an appearance at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: Grace VanderWaal.
On its website, the company said: "And this year, there's a real Goldie girl performing on the float: Grace VanderWaal, the 12-year-old winner of America's Got Talent!
GoldieBlox is a company that creates toys, games and entertainment for girls, designed to develop early interest in engineering. This is the third year GoldieBlox will have a float in the parade.
