BRUSSELS (Reuters) - NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg said on Tuesday that NATO member states have the economic strength to provide support to Ukraine, which is under attack by Russia. However, he called on each country to make a "political decision."
Secretary General Stoltenberg told reporters at NATO headquarters in Brussels that ``Ukraine remains an independent state thanks to the unprecedented support of NATO member states,'' adding that NATO member states have provided sufficient ammunition. He pointed out that what they did not do was having an impact on the war situation. He said that this is one of the reasons why he is allowing the Russian army to advance.
"We have the capacity and the economic strength to provide Ukraine with the assistance it needs. Making the decision to prioritize assistance to Ukraine is a matter of political will," he said.
