The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a very glamorous night out when they attended the Royal Variety Performance at London's Palladium Theatre on 18 November - which airs on ITV on Tuesday night. Kate, 37, dazzled in a floor-length gown by Alexander McQueen, while Prince William looked smart in a tux, as they met a number of performers before and after the show.
The royal couple revealed that their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had wanted to come along with them, but Kate had to tell them 'not on a school night out.'
The annual event was in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, of which the Queen is Patron, and the money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health or hard times.
The evening was hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan and included performances from the cast of Mary Poppins, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Robbie Williams, the cast of Come From Away, and a special collaboration by Emeli Sandé and Manchester’s Bee Vocal choir.

A berry, merry awkward moment? Duchess Kate was caught shrugging off Prince William’s attempt to put his hand on her shoulder during the A Berry Royal Christmas special, which aired on BBC on Monday, December 16. William and Kate, both 37, joined British food writer and host Mary Berry for the TV event, which followed the couple and baker preparing a menu for a charity event. Social media users, however, were focused on the duchess seemingly rejecting her husband’s attempt at PDA. “Great show really lovely couple, did anyone see kate nudge wills hand of her shoulder near the end though #ABerryRoyalChristmas,” one viewer asked. A second user replied to a viral clip of the moment, writing, “She moved with a quickness 😂.” “Awkward! Too awkward!! They should have cut it out!” a third person responded.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are keeping palace intrigue that there's trouble in paradise at peak levels, cause a day after Kate had a Melania Trump moment ... more signs of friction. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived to the Royal Family's Christmas lunch Wednesday at Buckingham Palace in separate cars, and split up the children as well -- Prince George rode with dad, while Charlotte and Louis showed up with mom. It's bad because this same time last year, the whole family rode together in one vehicle.

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton have big news to share this holiday season, according to a briefing from Kensington Palace. Royal expert Omid Scobie — who attended the recent briefing at the royal home — shared on ABC’s Heirpod that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to make several big announcements over the Christmas holiday. “Next year is going to be busy for the Cambridges,” Scobie said, according to Express. “Expect royal announcements over the holidays, which I think is a slight break away from tradition. There was a briefing at Kensington Palace just this week where they gave us a number of new announcements that will be coming out over the holiday period.” He continued, “It’s a smart decision, it’s a quiet time of the year. It is a great time to announce things.” As for Prince Harry, it was revealed last night that he, wife Meghan Markle and son Archie will be spending Christmas in Canada.

Ms Tominey was appearing on ITV's This Morning when she spoke about the card being leaked, as she uncovered details about the message the image portrays. The photo of Kate, Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte is yet to be officially released, Ms Tominey said. She argued it was because an initial photo was leaked by a woman who received a Christmas card from the family. "Kensington Palace were planning to release it formally and then did not because this happened." Ms Tominey then opened up on what appears to be the hidden message of family unity behind the heartwarming image. Kate and William have chosen an image to show they are "not in any trouble" as the photo is a "relaxed shot". The royal expert said: "This lady is not in any trouble. This is a relaxed shot."
