Taylor Swift shook off Apple and Spotify over music royalties, but now she's going after what may be a more difficult target: Chinese counterfeiters. If you're a Taylor Swift fan in China, there are two ways to get merchandise -- have someone buy it in the U.S. and ship it, or purchase a much cheaper counterfeit item. With this, the singer and businesswoman saw a problem -- and an opportunity, reports CBS News correspondent Seth Doane. "Nihao, it's Taylor Swift. Be sure to check out my new authentic 'merch,' now available in China," Swift can be seen saying in a commercial. Authentic Taylor Swift "merch" will now be available on two Chinese retail sites. The superstar's "merch," also known as merchandise, will be available via two Chinese online retailers. Anti-piracy tags will allow consumers to confirm it's the real deal. Most of the Swift knock-offs can be found online, and they are easy to find. On the official U.S. website, TaylorSwift.com, we found a black "Shake It Off" t-shirt for about $30, and then in just minutes found the same type of t-shirt on Taobao.com, part of Alibaba, for 28 RMB -- about $5, a fraction of the cost. In a statement, Alibaba said it is "dedicated to the fight against counterfeits" and uses "technology... to scrub our platforms of counterfeits."

Gigi Hadid and Martha Hunt don't need their "Bad Blood" alter egos to shut down Grizzly Bear's Edward Droste's Taylor Swift attack -- they're doing it themselves and sticking up for a friend. It all started last week when Droste tweeted a picture of a tabloid article that called out Swift's alleged controlling ways with her friends. Droste captioned the picture "Obsessed that people are catching on." But it isn't true. At least, not according to Hadid and Hunt, who -- as Swift Squad members -- would know.

Boys aren't breaking up this girl squad. Taylor Swift graced the September cover of Vanity Fair and, naturally, gushed about her girl squad. Swift's friendships with stars like Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Martha Hunt, and Karlie Kloss aren't just for show. The 25-year-old said nothing comes between the close-knit crew. Not even men. "We even have girls in our group who have dated the same people," Swift said in the interview. "It's almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. Fortunately, things are working out between Swift and her rumored beau Calvin Harris. The "Style" singer recently uploaded an Instagram photo of Harris and gal pal Kloss hanging out in the kitchen. Gigi Hadid also recently made a racy appearance in Harris's new music video "How Deep Is Your Love." " … Now more than ever we need to be good and kind to each other and not judge each other – and just because you have the same taste in men, we don't hold that against each other," she told the magazine.

Kids can be shy around strangers. Especially strangers with big microphones and scary TV cameras. But Ava Hadfield did her best on Tuesday evening. As she waited with her parents outside Rexall Place, just minutes away from meeting her idol, the little girl in the wheelchair tried to answer every question. "What do you like about Taylor Swift?" "She's nice," Ava said. "Are you really excited to meet her tonight?" "Yes," Ava said. "What's your favourite Taylor Swift song?" "Trouble," Ava said. And thus, with four carefully chosen words, Ava herself seemed to have no 'trouble' summing up her feelings about an experience that must have been a bit overwhelming. Five year olds are not supposed to have bucket lists. But Ava has terminal brain cancer. She was diagnosed in December 2012, and since then her life has been a series of surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. After a family friend offered four free tickets to Tuesday's concert, Taylor Swift's record label heard about Ava and quickly arranged a backstage meeting between the superstar and a star-struck fan.

What television drama is Swift obsessing over? Who does she look to for guidance? What’s next for the star? Listen to Duboff describe his experience reporting on Swift, observing her on the set of her V.F. cover shoot and backstage on her 1989 world tour. “We shared a common vocabulary generationally—we were talking a lot about Friends and different TV shows she’s watching. She chastised me for not watching How to Get Away with Murder, which she’s obsessed with now,” he says. Does that even surprise you? In a blockbuster cover story for the September issue of Vanity Fair, made available online today, Taylor Swift revealed that in addition to making excellent breakfasts — "I absolutely slay at omelets," she says — she provides the members of her massive girl squad with "white Victorian nighties" purchased in Nashville for their sleepovers. That penchant for low-key hangouts is probably why, as writer Josh Duboff points out, Swift's clique is seldom seen "shuffling out of clubs at 3 a.m. or finding themselves on TMZ for nefarious reasons." Other evidence of Swift's undying devotion to innocence? "I can never tell when I have food on my face... or when someone's high," Swift says. "That's why I can't go to Coachella or Glastonbury." She insists, however, that the public's assumption that she "never has a drink and goes to church five times a week" is false. Of course, Swift can make headlines for doing practically anything, though most famously for her tiff with Kanye West, her public letter to Apple earlier this year, her rumored feud with Katy Perry, and her Instagram-official relationship with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris — all of which she discussed with Duboff. Read the whole sprawling profile over at Vanity Fair.
