Birthday love! Taylor Swift wished her friend Lily Aldridge a happy 29th birthday with a sweet Instagram post on Sunday, Nov. 15. “Happy birthday to a mommy who lets her little girl dress like a princess whenever she wants, and makes balancing a million things look effortless and fun,” the superstar, 25, wrote. “I’m so glad you invited me to a Kings of Leon concert six years ago. My life would be unrecognizable without you, @lilyaldridge.” Aldridge starred in Swift’s music video for her hit summer 2015 single, “Bad Blood,” that also featured other members of the singer’s “squad” — including Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, and Cara Delevingne.

In an interview with Yahoo! Politics posted Thursday (Nov. 19), Donald Trump was asked to play a word association game that included subjects as wide-ranging as Charlie Sheen ("sad") and ISIS ("evil"). The billionaire-turned-Republican presidential candidate largely stuck to the rules, giving only one or two word responses to each question -- except when they asked his thoughts on "Kim Kardashian." “Well, look, she was so nice to me," he gushed about Kardashian. "I mean every time I see her she’s just -- I’m just going to say she was always nice to me." Among presumably other meetings, Kardashian appeared on an episode of Trump's The Apprentice. Trump also had nothing but compliments for two of music's biggest stars, Taylor Swift and Jay Z. Of the 1989 singer Trump declared Swift "terrific," which is what you say if you want to one day be part of her super-powerful Squad. Of Jay Z, The Donald responded, "good guy." Given Jay-Z and Beyonce's friendly relationship with the Obamas, don't expect to see the rapper at a Trump inauguration any time soon.

An absent Taylor Swift dominated the American Music Awards, winning three prizes, including album of the year and song of the year. One Direction also fared well, being named favourite group and artist of the year, for the second year in a row. Jared Leto made a moving speech about terror attacks in Paris, recalling the time his band played at The Bataclan. Celine Dion then sang Edith Piaf's Hymne a L'Amour against a backdrop of Parisian landmarks. "Tonight we honour the victims of the unimaginable violence that took place in Paris and around the world," said Leto, who sings with rock band 30 Seconds to Mars. "France matters. Russia matters. Mali matters. Syria matters... The whole world matters. Peace is possible."
