Courtney Hadwin was the standout singer on the first live quarterfinal of “America’s Got Talent” on August 14. She nailed her cover of James Brown‘s soul classic “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag” and was one of the seven acts to make it through to the semifinals. This English songbird has captivated America with her singing and is the current frontrunner to win season 13 of “AGT.” Are you a fan or do you think that she is overrated? Vote in our poll below as to how she will do in the rest of the competition. This 13-year-old is painfully shy, and finds it hard to speak. But when she opens her mouth to sing, she is transformed. She would be third youngster in a row to win the show, following ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and another singer, Grace VanderWaal. Hadwin won over all the judges with her charming awkwardness at her audition back in June. After she surprised everyone with her spirited rendition of the Otis Redding classic “Hard to Handle,” Howie Mandel was inspired to press his Golden Buzzer. That sent Hadwin straight through to the quarterfinals, allowing her to skip the judge cuts portion of the competition.

Courtney Hadwin will win “America’s Got Talent” by a wide margin according to our survey of viewers. A whopping 43% of those that tuned into the first live quarterfinal of “AGT” on August 14 are predicting this English teenager to take the season 13 title next month. She earned a place in the semifinals with her rousing rendition of James Brown‘s soul classic “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag.”
Only three of the other six acts to move on merited double digit support in our predictions poll. Angel City Chorale is at 18% for their soulful performance of “This Is Me,” the powerful anthem from the film “The Greatest Showman”; this 160-person choir was the Golden Buzzer act of guest judge Olivia Munn. Magician Shin Lim managed to conjure up 14% support for his card trick. And Mel B‘s Golden Buzzer, Amanda Mena, sits at 10% for her version of Pink‘s song “What About Us” that added Spanish lyrics to the English ones.
Like Hadwin, Mena is also 13. Either would be third youngster in a row to win the show, following ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and another singer, Grace VanderWaal. Besides Lim, there are three other acts hoping to stop them from doing that: stand-up comic Vicki Barbolak, dance group Junior New System, sibling singers We Three.

An early fan-favorite is eliminated first, setting the stage for a nail-biting night of "America's Got Talent" results as only five of 11 acts can advance. Last night, I admitted I was worried that your love for kid singers would cloud your judgment on this "America's Got Talent" results show. With two kid singers and a whole kid choir in the running, America's vote stood a good chance of mucking everything up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-kid singers. I'm just anti voting for them because they're kid singers. The bottom line is that none of them were strong enough. I know it and you know it.
