Trump will host Great American Comeback Events in Mosinee, Wisconsin on Thursday, September 17th, 2020 at 8:00 PM CDT, Bemidji, Minnesota on Friday, September 18th, 2020 at 6:00 PM CDT, and Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday, September 19th, 2020 at 6:00 PM EDT.
President Donald Trump said Saturday he will nominate a woman to the Supreme Court next week and that she should be confirmed as soon as possible, even in the midst of election season.
"I will be putting forth a nominee next week - it will be a woman," Trump told supporters at an airport rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
When Trump told supporters that "we're going to fill the seat," the crowd responded with repeated chants of "fill that seat! fill that seat!"
Trump is looking for a successor for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the court's liberal justices, who died Friday after announcing in July she suffered a recurrence of cancer and that lesions had been found on her liver.
Ginsburg's death touched off an immediate fight over her successor because the vacancy gives Trump and Senate Republicans a rare opportunity to solidify conservative control of the court, perhaps for decades to come.
In urging a quick confirmation, Trump said he disagreed with the statement by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, that the winner of the presidential election should pick the next justice. "We have an obligation," Trump said. "We won. And we have an obligation as the winners to pick who we want."
Trump said he backs a fast-track plan outlined by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. with whom he discussed the vacancy on Friday. Two people familiar with that call said Trump specifically discussed two potential nominees, both women: Appeals court judges Amy Coney Barrett and Barbara Lagoa.
"I think it's going to move very quickly," Trump told reporters when discussing the confirmation process.
During the rally, Trump praised Ginsburg as "an inspiration," but spent more time talking about replacing her. He talked about other issues – including the COVID-19 pandemic, trade, and violence in cities – but kept coming back to the Supreme Court.

President Donald Trump is slated to hold a Friday evening rally in Virginia — but the trip is really about the next state over.
Advisers say the idea behind Trump's event in Newport News at the end of the week is to woo voters in neighboring North Carolina, a key battleground where absentee balloting has begun.
Though Virginia was a battleground state in recent elections, the state is widely seen as far out of reach for the president this year. But the Newport News media market also covers eight hard-to-reach rural counties in northeastern North Carolina. Considering the logistical hurdles of flying in Air Force One, the president’s team settled on the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport as the most realistic venue for an event that could spark interest in that part of North Carolina.
Polls depict a tight race in North Carolina. A New York Times/Siena survey released last week showed Joe Biden leading by 1 point, while a USA Today/Suffolk survey had the former vice president leading by 3 points. In addition to the battle for the state's 15 electoral votes, Trump's performance will be closely tied to GOP Sen. Thom Tillis, who is fighting for a second term in a race that could decide control of the Senate in 2021.

President Donald Trump mocked mask-wearing Joe Biden by asking why he spent "all that money on plastic surgery" only to cover his face.
The president turned on his election rival as he addressed a crowd of his loyal supporters in Pennsylvania last night - as the president thanks Mitt Romney for his support of SCOTUS pick.
He targeted the Democrat on the day it was revealed 200,000 people have now been killed by the coronavirus in the US.
"I'll be honest, he feels good about that mask, and that's OK," Trump said of Biden.
However, he then added: "I mean honestly, what the hell did he spend all that money on the plastic surgery if he's going to cover it up with a mask."
The president's jibe brought cheers from those who gathered for the outdoor rally at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The president went on: "The question is will he leave it on during the debate?"
The White House rivals are due to meet next week for a presidential head-to-head in Cleveland, Ohio.
