His wife may be known for her long lustrous locks, but the bald truth about Prince William is that by the age of 50 he will have lost most of his hair. According to an expert, the 32-year-old royal's hair will be seriously thinning on top over the next 18 years. But it's not just our future king who faces problems with male pattern baldness. His younger brother, Prince Harry, who turns 30 on September 15, is already showing the first signs of baldness on his crown. The new graphics showing how the princes will look at 50 have been drawn up by hair transplant surgeon, Asim Shahmalak from the Crown Clinic in Manchester. Dr Shahmalak, hair loss expert on the TV show Embarrassing Bodies, has based his predictions on the brothers' strong family baldness gene - their grandfather (Prince Philip), father (Prince Charles) and uncle (Prince Edward) are all bald. They also have baldness on their mother's side: Princess Diana's father, the late Earl Spencer, had very thin hair. Statistics show that 50 per cent of men have started shedding their locks by the time they reach 50 - and an even greater number have some element of grey in their hair. Increasing numbers of men are turning to hair transplants to prevent baldness. Robbie Williams recently had a hair transplant just prior to his 40th birthday after he started thinning around his temples. Dr Shahmalak said: "There is a strong baldness gene in the royal family which has very obviously been passed down to Prince William and is already affecting Prince Harry who is starting to show the first signs of thinning hair around his crown. The only long-term cure for baldness is a hair transplant. I fear that it is too late for Prince William, who has too large an area of baldness to cover. But if his hair loss accelerates, Prince Harry would really benefit from a hair transplant. He could look 10 years younger with the right procedure."

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas may no longer be in a relationship, but I hear that they found themselves in close proximity at the Wilderness Festival in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire. The prince pitched up at the venue late at night, wearing a cap and a hoody, and stood around the Pandemonium Stage, drinking with his mates, as Cressida was dancing with hers. “So close and yet so far apart,” lamented a festival goer. “They didn’t say a word, but they may not have seen each other.” Cressida Bonas is a bonafide It-girl in the UK, and it seems her keen eye for fashion has finally caught the attention of the rest of the world as well. The 25-year-old ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry makes her debut in Vanity Fair's style issue, home of the prestigious International Best-Dressed List. In a sneak peek clip from the photo shoot of 'great style' shot by Mario Testino, Cressida struts her stuff on the streets of London in a plunging green Burberry gown with a thigh-high slit, a thin gold belt highlighting her petite waist. The lovely Cressida Bonas has not only been making her acting debut in a London play but has made it onto the Vanity Fair best dressed list for 2014. She's up against some stiff competition so it's quite an achievement but not one that surprises us. Cressida is one of those natural English beauties who is slender enough to look good in everything. Despite being from a rather smart upper class family she prefers a more bohemian and often grungey take on style.

Prince Harry delivered an entertaining and heartfelt speech as he introduced the British team who will be participating in the Invictus Games next month. The games are a Paralympic-style sporting competition for wounded servicemen and women that the royal launched earlier this year. Arriving at Potters Field Park in Tower Bridge, London, Harry took to the stage to thank those who had supported him in his ambitious project. The popular Prince strode onto stage to laughter and light-heart heckles from the 130-strong team of military personnel standing behind him. "I'm going to get given so much banter from behind while doing this," said Harry at the start of his speech. "So prosthetics, dogs, wheelchairs, high-performance cars, 4x4s, tattoos – we've got everything here, it could only be the Invictus Games. Shortly after, a gust of wind blew Harry's notes away, prompting more chuckles from his audience. Gesturing to the wounded army members behind him, he continued: "These men and women here have achieved so much already but by being selected for this team is another significant milestone in their life beyond injury. "Everyone here behind me will be competing for themselves, but also for their mates. Also the many doctors, nurses, physios and friends who have played a part in the rehabilitation of these and many other remarkable men and women." "Who's dog is that?" he asked, turning around and jokingly scolding "Fire" the team mascot. "And above all the families of all those sitting here, and those who will be watching on television at home, thank you." Harry ended by wishing the British team the best of luck with their remaining four weeks of training, and encouraging them to "bring back as many medals" as they can, while also reminding them that the most important part of the games was their participation.

Prince Harry has said he was unprepared for the hard reality of war. The 29-year-old royal served two tours of Afghanistan, one in 2007-2008 and a second in 2012-2013. In a powerful column for The Sunday Times, he said he was "hit" by the horror of what he had experienced while flying home with injured personnel in February 2008. "I had never seen it first-hand," Harry wrote. "By 'it' I mean the injuries that were being sustained largely due to improvised explosive devices (IEDs). "Loss of life is as tragic and devastating as it gets, but to see young lads – much younger than me... missing limbs... was something I never prepared myself for." Harry has gone on to dedicate himself to helping injured servicemen and women. Next month, shortly before his 30th birthday, the prince's Paralympic-style Invictus Games will take place in London. Harry came up with the concept of the tournament for injured service personnel after a 2012 visit to America, where he witnessed the Warrior Games and realised that sport could serve as a great motivation for rehabilitation. "The premise is simple: set yourself a target, take your mind off all the negative thoughts and concentrate on the challenge in front of you, all while relearning to use your body," he said. Of the 400 wounded men and women representing 14 countries at the Invictus Games, Harry added, "They want to put on a show for you. All are in different stages of their rehabilitation, some are Paralympians, others just want to use sport to get their lives back in shape."

Cressida Bonas poses with her posse as she let her hair down at an upmarket music festival at the weekend. Wearing a clinging psychedelic cat suit, the 25-year-old actress danced within feet of her ex-boyfriend, Prince Harry, at Wilderness in Oxfordshire, but was unperturbed. She partied in high spirits with a gaggle of girlfriends including Georgia Forbes, Molly Whitehall and Julia de Boinville. The close friends smile and hug for the picture, taken at the festival in the grounds of Lord and Lady Rotherwick’s 17th Century estate, Cornbury Park. Georgia Forbes, who dressed down for the day in denim hotpants, is one of Cressida’s closest friends and confidantes - they lived together in Leeds when they attended university and the pair are often spotted partying with the high-society set. Donning a black jumpsuit and a sequin jacket, glamorous Molly Whitehall, 24, is comedian Jack Whitehall’s little sister. Molly went to Malborough College with Julia De Boinville, who is also a long-standing friends of Miss Bonas. Julia wore a fitted peach playsuit, baring her long legs and draping her arm over Cressida’s shoulder for the photo. Julia and Cressida were both guests at a charity event last month, chaired by Princess Eugenie, who is also a close friend of Cressida. The fashionable jet set let their hair down at the Wildness festival, which attracts a decidedly more upmarket crowd than your average summer music gathering. By coincidence, the fourth in line to the throne - whom Cressida split from in spring after a two-year romance - was also partying at the festival. The pair are not believed to have spoken - and may not have even been aware of each other’s presence. The event featured DJs and a special appearance by performers from the sexually-explicit The Box nightclub in London, frequented by many of the younger royals.
