Maybe it was the beard. Or maybe it was the sheer surprise of finding a royal turning up on an otherwise ordinary Monday. But when Prince Harry appeared at The Duke of York's Royal Military School, some students were so shocked that they didn't believe it was really the big-hearted prince. Wearing his distinctive ceremonial uniform of the Blues and Royals regiment, the former Army captain had kept his appearance at the school in southeast England a secret from all but one of the 406 students. The only one in on the surprise? Senior Under Officer Pasangnema Sherpa, 18, who led his fellow pupils on the parade ground. "I've just told him who the guest is to give him a few moments to compose himself," Regimental Sergeant Major Steff Dowle told reporters shortly before the prince, 31, landed in a helicopter on the school's 150-acre grounds. "He's heavy breathing at the moment."

Schoolboy Miles Bailey handed over £5, visitor Jess Blundell gave £10 and new dad Daniel Evans threw in a few pound coins as he held up his five-month-old son, Kyle. At every turn, Prince Harry, 31, and his band of wounded ex-armed forces members surprised bystanders along the lanes of Shropshire, about 150 miles northwest of London, earlier this week. "People come out to give money, and then when they hear what it's for they put another £20 in," Harry told PEOPLE on the walk. Raising funds and awareness for Walking with the Wounded, the trek is also a personal milestone for the men, and one woman, making the full 1,000-mile journey.

Prince Harry showed his passion in the stands as England were trailing to Australia in Pool A of Rugby World Cup 2015. The hosts were blown away by a rampant Australia in the first-half as Bernard Foley crossed the line twice to put his side 17-3 in front at half-time. But everyone’s favourite royal proved just how much of a fan he is as he cheered his side on during the second-half as England threatened to mount a comeback. A try from Anthony Watson in the 55th minute meant supporters had an unbearable 20 minutes remaining in the match.

Like thousands of other England fans, Prince Harry sought comfort in the pub following the national team's mauling at the hands of Australia in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday night. However, his evening did seem to get brighter later on, after the Prince was spotted enjoying drinks with former flame Antonia Packard in a West London bar. The downcast sports fan, 31, who quickly ditched his England rugby shirt, was also joined by close friend Guy Pelly and Princess Eugenie at Ramusake in Kensington. Princess Eugenie joined Prince Harry to drown their sorrows, but it was her outfit that really turned our frown upside down. She kept things simple in skinny jeans, a black T-shirt and ankle boots, leaving that blue sleeveless jacket to make the style statement.

While entertaining sick children and their families during a visit at the WellChild Awards Monday night, according to Hello!, the 31-year-old British prince had a giggle of his own when one young girl mistook him for a very familiar character—a clown! Looks like the red-headed royal was doing a good job of keeping everyone laughing. Prince Harry later addressed the crowd for a heartwarming message. "I am humbled by the people and children I meet. You guys are awesome," Prince Harry said in his speech. "The stories we have heard tonight are moving beyond words. They remind us of the utter insignificance of our everyday worries. Yet, one of the things that always stands out is the positivity shown by those in the most difficult and testing circumstances. We literally have the bravest children in the U.K. in this room."
