They're used to schmoozing with pop royalty but Little Mix have admitted they're pretty nervous about performing in front of the actual royal family at the Royal Variety Performance - mainly because "hot" Prince Harry will be in the audience. The Black Magic babes will take to the stage tonight alongside Sir Elton John, One Direction and Kylie Minogue at the Royal Albert Hall - where Jack Whitehall will be hosting the annual bash. Speaking ahead of the show Jesy Nelson said she couldn't wait to meet the "bad boy" prince and would ask the "hot" royal exactly how he got his "naughty" reputation. "I think he's more of the bad boy... he seems to disobey the rules more," she said. Bandmate Jade Thirlwall was more nervous and said that while they've performed around the world - this gig was a big deal because of the very special VIPs in the audience.

Harry, 31, dusted off his tuxedo for this year's Royal Variety Performance, which also included appearances from Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Ricky Martin. The event was hosted by British comedian Jack Whitehall. Last year, it was sister-in-law Princess Kate who, with husband Prince William, brought her glitter (and Diane von Furstenberg gown) to the annual bash. Traditionally, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – or, in more recent years, Harry's father, Prince Charles – attend the annual event. Charles and wife Camilla are currently visiting Australia for their tour Down Under. He even quipped about his hair: "I wasn't belittling anything you did in the Army by the way – that was amazing. What you did in Afghanistan...a ginger guy stepping out in that heat. Wow. First time you get a Victoria Cross for just stepping out of the shade." For Harry, his place as guest of honor at the event at the Royal Albert Hall follows a week of formal commemoration of Britain's veterans, that included a somber ceremony on Sunday with his grandmother, 89, and he spoke of inspiring wounded warriors to take on new adventurous and sporting achievements at an event on Wednesday.

The only daughter of power couple David and Victoria Beckham sat front-row at fashion week alongside Anna Wintour, and now she's met royalty. On Saturday, Harper and her older brothers Cruz and Romeo were introduced to Prince Harry during a charity match organised by the former England football captain David in aid of UNICEF. In a video clip, captured by live streaming app MyEye, the Prince can be seen greeting Cruz and Romeo with a hearty handshake as they stand on the sidelines. Harper however seems less impressed by the Royal meeting as she hides her hands up her coat sleeves. The mini fashionista, who was sporting a stylish red coat that matched the Manchester United colours, looked nervous as Harry stretched out his hand – initially pulling away before shaking his hand. Harper was being looked after by 10-year-old Cruz and 13-year-old Romeo, who were both kitted out in red UNICEF football ensembles.

It's every little girl's dream - a special message from a prince, and that's just what Invercargill 5-year-old Imogen Burdon received. Imogen's mum Trudy knew the letter in the mail box on Friday was something special when she saw the stamps from the Buckingham Palace, and got even more excited when she noticed Prince Harry's mark on the back. Sure enough, inside was a letter sent on behalf of the prince, thanking Imogen for a drawing she made, which her sister Aaria handed to Prince Harry at Invercargill Airport during his visit in May. "Prince Harry has asked me to thank you for your lovely picture," the letter says. "I apologise for the delay in replying to you. His Royal Highness receives many letters and pictures and unfortunately this means that he is unable to respond to each one. However I can say on his behalf that he was touched with the care you have taken with your drawing." A photo of the prince during his visit was included in the letter.

Speaking about his first visit to the African kingdom 11 years ago, he said he was “struck by the many children I met whose lives had been shattered by the loss of a parent and in some cases by both.” Lesotho is a country with one of the highest rates of HIV and AIDS in the world. Movingly, the royal spoke of feeling a connection with these children who, like Harry and his brother Prince William, had suffered the death of a parent at a young age. “They were far younger than me, and of course their situation was a great deal more challenging than my own,” Harry said. “Nonetheless, we shared a similar feeling of loss, having a loved one, in my case a parent, snatched away so suddenly. I, like them, knew there would always be a gaping hole that could never be filled.”
