Prince Harry fell from his polo pony this afternoon as he played in a charity match in South Africa. The fifth in line to the throne toppled from his mount during a clash in the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup, a major fundraiser in Cape Town for the charity he set up to help children suffering with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Fortunately the prince, who minutes earlier had scored a goal, appeared unhurt and he quickly got to his feet and walked off the field. Within minutes the royal daredevil was back in play. But in getting back on his horse without his helmet, Prince Harry treated the crowd to a quick glimpse of his growing bald patch.

With each step of her 1,000-mile walk around Britain, which ended with a welcome hug at Buckingham Palace from Prince Harry, Kirstie Ennis knew she was moving closer to life-changing surgery. The former U.S. Marine, who suffered multiple injuries and has undergone 39 surgeries following a helicopter crash in June 2012, had put off the amputation of her left leg so she could take part in the charity trek alongside five wounded and injured servicemen. "The pain in what was my leg was a constant reminder of everything. Every time you take a step, it's a reminder of what you have been through and what you have to face," Ennis, 24, tells PEOPLE. Ennis knew amputation was likely after the accident in Afghanistan, but she had trouble accepting it. (Backed by the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Ennis had been using a leg brace.) "I started to worry about body image and fought the idea of amputation for a very long time," she says.

A long-time advocate of wildlife conservation, the 31-year-old prince spent three months this summer working as a volunteer in veterinary and tracking efforts across Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Botswana. Harry posted a number of photos from his summer on the official Kensington Palace Instagram account this week to coincide with this visit. “How can it be that 30,000 elephants were slaughtered last year alone? None of them had names, so do we not care? And for what? Their tusks?” Prince Harry asks on Instagram, under a photo of him hugging an elephant. “Seeing huge carcasses of rhinos and elephants scattered across Africa, with their horns and tusks missing is a pointless waste of beauty.” “I have seen for myself that you and your fellow rangers are doing everything in your power to turn this tide, and we must support your efforts in whatever way we can,” he said after announcing his family’s anti-poaching charity, United for Wildlife, will partner with the college to fund further ranger training programs.

It has been the year of the hug for Prince Harry. As he arrives home in the U.K. from his tour of South Africa, where he warmly embraced an old friend, cuddled some youngsters in Johannesburg and even released a heart-baring photo with an elephant, Harry is showing an emotional new side of himself. That symbolic moment – combined with his recent candid comments about wanting "to be the bad boy" in his youth and his speech-making (he delivered three on the tour of Lesotho and South Africa) – have underlined Harry's increasing willingness to speak up.

This week's issue of OK! magazine is a keeper, thanks to the thirsty royal fanfic it's reporting — Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton are in the midst of a "secret romance," OK! says. It's not a secret any more though! The pair apparently first kissed at their siblings' wedding back in 2011 (remember that?!) because isn't that bridesmaids and groomsmen are supposed to do?! And KMid caught them in the act, even, which was awkward. Anyway, I'm breathless as I write this because it's just so fun even though obviously a complete fabrication: simmering "sexual tension" has remained between the pair ever since, OK! continues. Since they've both been single for the past few months, they've gotten back together for sexy sleepovers at Harry's place — he cooks pasta carbonara [Editor's Note: this being the most illogical part of the whole piece, because Harry would clearly order pizza], there are candles, and romantic music by Adele. The thought of Prince Harry getting it on to the tune of "Hello," I mean it's just perfect. I bet he times his thrusts so they match the beat, but let's not dwell on that because I'm as bad as OK! given the opportunity. Obviously this should all be taken with a salt mine's worth of salt; perhaps the best " but no" debunk comes from The Daily Mail, which notes in their report on the story that, in other royal scoops, OK! has recently reported that KMid is pregnant with twins, "even going so far as to say the palace has confirmed the news, despite the fact that no other confirmation has been given to any other media outlet." That's a mic drop moment.
