Prince Harry reunited with a special friend during a hospital visit to see a young boy he met last year at a charity gala for seriously ill children. The prince spent time with Ollie Carroll, 6, along with his younger sister, Amelia. Both suffer from Batten disease, a fatal neurodegenerative disorder that eventually robs its patients of sight and mobility and leaves them with dementia.

The royal family's insistence on carrying on as normal in the immediate aftermath of Diana's death left Prince Harry, 12, confused and wondering if his mother had really passed away. The revelation is made by the princess' biographer Tina Brown in tonight's Channel 5 documentary Diana: 7 Days That Shook The Windsors, which reveals the turmoil surrounding the week after the royal's death. 'Prince Harry actually asked his father, "Is it true that 's dead?"' she explained. 'The children couldn't understand why everything was as normal, except a couple of hours earlier they'd been told their mother had died.' The programme explains that the royals' initial reaction to Diana's death was to 'do as they had always done' and, as it was a Sunday, that meant going to church at Balmoral where they where staying.

Prince Harry was once so disillusioned with being part of the Royal Family that he decided he "wanted out". Having considered giving up his title, he finally decided he should remain and "work out a role for myself". Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the prince - who is fifth in line to the throne - said being in the Army was "the best escape I've ever had". And he said the royals "don't want to be just a bunch of celebrities but instead use our role for good".

Prince Harry, a royal, saw his old friend Harry Styles, a prince in our hearts, again on Thursday afternoon. The occasion was the London red carpet premiere of Christopher Nolan’s World War II Dunkirk, marking the first time the public would be privy to Styles’s much-anticipated acting chops. Which is exciting! More exciting perhaps is this video footage of the interaction between the Harrys, tweeted from a One Direction fan account that trains its eagle eyes on Styles as he rises aloft to other ventures, other industries. It was a reunion of sorts. They first met at the perfectly named Royal Variety Performance in London in 2015, when Harry Styles was still (hold back those tears) performing with One Direction, and Prince Harry had not even yet met Meghan Markle (imagine!). Back then, they talked about Harry Styles’s hair: the royal, perhaps with just a smidgen of jealousy given the clean-cut look he has to sport, asked if he was ever going to cut it.

Prince Harry buoyed the spirits of volunteers helping with the Grenfell Tower relief effort with a visit to the sorting hub for mountains of donations. Harry was seen smiling and chatting to British Red Cross workers who have taken over a Royal Mail site in Greenford, north-west London. During a 50-minute private visit on Thursday, Harry also talked to the Royal Mail staff who have facilitated the operation with the charity.
