Prince Harry has transformed enormously over the years. According to Angela Levin, the author of Harry: Conversations With The Prince, this gingerhaired maverick has grown from a shy toddler who hardly spoke to a rebellious party boy, and has now morphed into a responsible, charitable figure – currently planning his nuptials to American actress Meghan Markle.
According to Angela, Harry suffered from extreme shyness growing up and found preschool particularly traumatic.
‘At break time... he initially refused to join in the games and when another child approached him he’d run away, hide in a quiet corner of the playground, or sit by himself on a bench – often close to tears,’ she reveals.
‘It was equally difficult to get Harry to speak to the other children and even to his teachers. He also rarely held up his hand in class to ask to go to the toilet. Instead, the teachers had to look out for him wriggling and with a pained expression on his face, before taking him to the bathroom. His vulnerability made him an easy target for bullies, especially as he didn’t fight back.’
"Not currently, no," Prince Harry told BBC when asked about children. "But I think eventually, one step at a time and we'll start a family in the near future."
Meghan has also been relatively quiet on the subject since dating Prince Harry. In 2016, she opened up to Lifestyle magazine about her life, career, and future family.
"I also dream to have a family. It's all about balance, and I have so much happiness in my career and am fortunate to travel the world and see so many amazing things - it will also be nice to be anchored to something grounded and in the same place," she told the magazine for its September issue - which was conducted after she began dating Harry in July of that year. "Raising a family will be a wonderful part of that."
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have their first royal tour on the calendar!
The couple, who recently returned from their honeymoon, will head to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand in the fall, Kensington Palace announced Sunday.
The visit to Australia is no surprise. Meghan, 36, previously revealed she would join Harry, 33, at his next Invictus Games in Sydney.
The Paralympic-style competition takes place from Oct. 20-27, and in Sunday’s announcement, their palace office confirms the tour will happen around the time of the games.
The palace is in party mode — and Meghan Markle is in Prada!
Meghan and Prince Harry joined Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to celebrate a group of young leaders from across the world.
The Queen, 92, hosted an evening reception for change-makers across the Commonwealth of 53 nations loosely linked to the U.K. Harry, 33, was named the organization’s Youth Ambassador just weeks before he and Meghan, 36, were married on May 19.
She has had somewhat of a regal makeover following her marriage to Prince Harry but it seems that Meghan was back to her former fashion choices as she arrived at the polo alongside her husband this afternoon on what would have been Princess Diana's 57th birthday.
The Duchess of Sussex cut a very casual figure in a pair of black skinny jeans and an oversize white shirt on the second day of the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park in Ascot.
Doing away with the formal high heels we have seen her wearing of late, Meghan opted for a pair of flat black ballet pumps to negotiate the bumpy field.
In light of the sunny weather the 36-year-old came armed with a pair of sunglasses and could be seen carrying a panama hat, £47 by Madewell.
