Boris Johnson's partner Carrie Symonds has found herself in the headlines again - first after being romantically linked to the top Tory and now over a "row" with him which saw police make a visit to their home. But who is the woman Mr Johnson shares a home with after leaving his wife of 25 years? The public relations expert had been in the so-called Westminster Bubble for most of her remarkably ascendant career, a high-point being made head of party PR aged just 29. In 2018, PR Week listed her in its top 10 figures in political communications - second only to No10 chief Robbie Gibb. Prior to the role, Ms Symonds was a special adviser to Sajid Javid during his tenure as Communities Secretary after a similar stint as John Whittingdale's "spad" during his time at the top of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

Boris Johnson’s partner is scared to return home because of “aggressive” local residents and campaigners outside her flat, friends claimed yesterday. Police were called by a neighbour of Carrie Symonds after they heard her screaming “get off me” and “get out of my flat” during a furious argument early on Friday. Officers who attended the property left after checking that the occupants were well and took no further action. It later emerged that the neighbour, Tom Penn, had taped the argument in Camberwell, southeast London, and leaked the recording to The Guardian. Ms Symonds, 31, a former Conservative Party communications director, has not been seen in public since the news broke later on Friday. Her social media accounts have remained inactive.

CARRIE SYMONDS, 31, is the girlfriend of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55. Today she stood outside Number 10 to greet the new PM. Twitter users took to the platform. One wrote: “Carrie Symonds with @borisjohnson senior advisor Eddie Lister. She is at the heart of the show, as well as being his girlfriend.” Another said: “@carriesymonds looking absolutely stunning. So glad to see her outside No.10 waiting for #Boris.” Carrie Symonds is five years older than his oldest daughter Lara. It is said the political PR will play a role winning over those who doubt Boris as PM. A party source said: “(Boris) has got to schmooze them over the summer with trips to Chequers, making sure he meets them and their other halves.”

Centuries of tradition celebrated by Britain’s ruling classes have been upended by the election of a new prime minister who is a twice-married serial philanderer with a live-in girlfriend. For the first time, an unmarried partner will be moving into the prime minister’s official residence in Downing Street. Boris Johnson’s living arrangements are unlikely to have much impact on his electoral chances, but they do mark his partner out as an interloper in the eyes of Britain’s head of state. When Johnson was formally invited to form a government by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, Carrie Symonds was conspicuous by her absence. Johnson’s predecessors—dating back decades—all went to the palace accompanied by their partners.

Boris Johnson, 55, and girlfriend Carrie Symonds,31, have moved into Downing Street together this weekend. The pair have been living together since autumn after Boris and his wife Marina Wheeler announced they were getting divorced. As Britain’s new leader Mr Johnson will make a custom visit to the Queen at Balmoral this summer but a “huge embarrassment” means he will make the trip alone, one royal expert has claimed. Boris Johnson has moved into Downing Street with Carrie Symonds while he is still in the process of divorcing his wife Marina Wheeler. Mr Johnson and Carrie are the first unmarried couple to be Britain’s Prime Minister and First Lady. While Boris is no stranger to relationship scandals due to a string of extramarital affairs, he and Ms Symonds have already made headlines with a drama of their own.
