Miss Americana is a film about the singer’s life over the past few years as directed by Lana Wilson. It premiered on the festival’s opening night, Jan. 23, 2020, and was met with an incredible response. But the next day, even bigger news regarding a new single and the upcoming Grammys came out. Taylor Swift’s fourth ‘Lover’ single Back up a bit, Swift released “Me!” as the first single off Lover in April 2019. This was followed by “You Need to Calm Down” in June and “The Archer” in July. However, the latter was considered only a promotional single. Finally, the title track “Lover,” was released as a single in August, the day before the full album dropped. http://instagram.com/p/B1fgxY-DsvJ Swift has maintained that she was interested in releasing more singles. She even spoke with a fan about this at the Cats premiere. And now, it’s being reported that track No. 3, “The Man,” will be her fourth single off of Lover. But many of her fans aren’t surprised. Swift is known for dropping plenty of hints about her upcoming singles. Easter eggs are basically her calling card. When she opened her 2019 American Music Awards medley with “The Man,” many thought it was simply a timed response to her feud with Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records. But perhaps it was more. http://instagram.com/p/B58xdWFDciX The artist has also played the song at other performances, including her NPR Tiny Desk concert and her City of Lover concert in Paris. And others could even be in on it — after all, “The Man” was played during the red carpet prior to the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. Back in December, she told Billboard of the song that she wanted it to “get stuck in people’s heads, [so] they would end up with a song about gender inequality stuck in their heads.” This certainly sounds to us like an indication that she was leaning towards it as a single.

Taylor Swift just dropped the lyric video for her power anthem, "The Man." The track, Swift's latest single off of her Lover album, addresses the double standards between men and women. Specifically, the superstar singer compares the way she's treated in the media vs. the way famous men are treated.
In the video, a woman is shown walking among a sea of men, who are much taller and larger. After almost being stepped on, the woman starts running, trying to escape. She then climbs a building, working hard to reach the top but not quite getting there. At one point, she's kicked off a building, falling, before she's caught by another woman. The video ends with a group of women walking together in solidarity, showing a powerful message to viewers.
"I would be complex, I would be cool/They'd say I played the field before I found someone to commit to," Swift sings in the opening of the track. "And that would be okay, for me to do/Every conquest I had made would make me more of a boss to you."

Taylor Swift has shared the recording of her Lover track “The Man,” cut during her performance last September at the iconic L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix. TayTay teased “The Man -- Live from Paris” earlier this week, and released the full track and its live video at the stroke of midnight. It's a work of beauty. Playing acoustic guitar in the video, the 30-year-old pop sensation looks relaxed and confident as the audience sings back every word of the song.

Taylor Swift’s fans are pumped for the eventual release of her official music video for “The Man.” Some sources say that will be on International Women’s Day – March 8. That’s ironic, because Swift’s song isn’t about celebrating women (just like “Only The Young” isn’t about celebrating the youth). It’s about envying men. And also promoting toxic masculinity to impressionable young fans. Taylor Swift Is The Man Taylor Swift is doing the same thing as those notorious Virginia Slims ad campaigns did in the 1920s by promoting cigarettes to suffragettes. So they could be “liberated” like the men. That impoverished notion of “liberation” literally got millions of women killed from tobacco use. Taylor Swift’s message in “The Man” is figuratively just as cancerous. While fans await the official video, Swift stirred the pot with one of an acoustic live performance of “The Man.” It’s from her “City of Lovers” concert in Paris last Fall. Unsurprisingly, the video is racking up the views on YouTube since it went up Sunday. Rolling Stone hailed the performance of the “propulsive song.” E! News said the performance “will empower you to conquer all.” But Taylor Swift’s supposedly feminist anthem proves you don’t need a Y-chromosome to be The Man. It’s rife with the cultural programming The Man has been using to keep people down (and turn them into mindless consumers) since the advent of mass media.

Taylor Swift is bringing "The Man" to life. The 30-year-old singer announced that she's set to drop a new music video for the fan favorite track off of her latest album, Lover, and on Wednesday, she released a teaser. http://instagram.com/p/B9B-61KjwfS The snippet shows a person from behind in a suit staring out the window from a high-rise office building. While the figure appears to be a male, some fans think it might be Swift herself. The pop star also revealed on Wednesday that she directed the video, which will debut at 7 a.m. ET on Thursday, following an hour-long YouTube Q&A with Swift where she'll be "chatting/answering your questions/mansplaining the video." Prior to the teaser, Swift posted a photo announcing the music video release, which has many fans sharing their theories as to the possible messages behind the image. In the photo, there's a long hallway with multiple white archways, and in between the arches are 19 colorful hands reaching out. Swifties took a lot of meaning from the image, with many speculating that the video might have been shot at Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West's home due to the similarities in architecture.
