They’re making it K-pop off the small screen. South Korean girl group Blackpink is circumventing the coronavirus lockdown by holding their premiere virtual concert later this month. “We hope everyone can comfortably enjoy our first-ever livestream concert ‘The Show’ at home,” the group said in a statement. “The Show” will air Dec. 27 at 12 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) exclusively on YouTube, a platform on which Blackpink is the second-most popular artist after Justin Bieber, Rolling Stone reported. Blinks — the group’s rabid fans — will be treated to a medley of songs from the K-pop quartet’s highly touted “The Album,” which was released in October. The record debuted at No. 2 on the Rolling Stone Top 200 chart and racked up more than 90,000 album sales, making it the highest-selling LP that week. Viewers can click “join” on Blackpink’s YouTube channel to buy tickets to “The Show,” whose standard package runs fans $29.99 and includes access to the livestream, rebroadcast and custom emojis. A $39.99 package features additional behind-the-scenes content. More details will be disclosed Friday at midnight EST when Blackpink makes an appearance on its YouTube channel. “We wanted to end the year with something very special for our Blinks who have been waiting so patiently for us,” Blackpink said. “Overall, we’re super excited to share this fun moment with our Blinks and we can’t wait till ‘The Show.’ “

BLACKPINK in your (virtual) area! Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa are partnering with YouTube Music for their first-ever livestream concert, and Billboard wants to know which song the Blinks can't wait to hear. Their livestream, aptly titled "The Show," comes two months after their highly anticipated debut The Album, so how would you like it if they served up "Ice Cream," their highest-charting Hot 100 collaboration with Selena Gomez? But another high-octane performance of "How You Like That" would surely rack up more accolades considering the music video collected multiple Guinness World Records for most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, most-viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group. "The Show" will take place Dec. 26 at 9 p.m. PT via the group's YouTube channel. Fans can purchase access here or by clicking "Join" on their YouTube page. The $29.99 standard package includes access to the livestream show, rebroadcast and custom emojis, while the $39.99 plus package also comes with behind-the-scenes content.

Blackpink announced on Wednesday (Dec. 16) that they've been forced to push their Dec. 27 show back a month due to COVID-19 restrictions in their native South Korea.
"THE SHOW" is now slated to take place on Jan. 31, 2021 at midnight ET.
The ladies tweeted out a video explaining the change of plans early Thursday morning (Dec. 17) in which they said that the nation's strict pandemic regulations caused the change of plans.
“We can’t wait to meet our BLINKs as soon as possible, but in order to comply with the Korean COVID-19 prevention guidelines and to ensure a safe performance, unfortunately, we have made the decision to postpone THE SHOW from December 27th until January 31st of next year,” Jisoo said in the clip.
Lisa added, "Through our concert, we wanted to give you some sort of comfort during these difficult times,” with Rosé saying, “But the most important thing is the health and safety of everyone taking part in THE SHOW. So, in order to make sure that we prepare for the concert in a safe environment, we have decided to postpone THE SHOW.”
Jennie thanked the nation's frontline workers, thanking them for taking care of the sick and working hard to disinfect and prevent the deadly pandemic that has infected more than 46,000 and killed 634 in the country to date.
The K-pop quartet initially announced the global YouTube livestream on Dec. 2, dedicating it to their diehard Blinks. “We wanted to end the year with something very special for our Blinks who have been waiting so patiently for us,” they said at the time in a statement. “We hope everyone can comfortably enjoy our first-ever livestream concert 'The Show' at home and hopefully join in on some special perks we’ve prepared for those who join our channel. Overall we’re super excited to share this fun moment with our Blinks and we can’t wait till 'The Show.'”
Blinks can watch the show by purchasing a paid subscription to Blackpink's official YT channel.
Meanwhile, Blackpink's 2021 Season's Greetings kit -- a Christmas card set featuring three calendars, a mini brochure for each member, stickers, a photocard, and a journal -- is now available to pre-order.
