Princess Charlotte is one of her dad’s biggest supporters — but it’s not going to hold back her silly side! On Sunday — one day after being in the saddle to help his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, 92, celebrate her birthday at Trooping the Colour — Prince William was on horseback of a different kind, playing his favorite summer sport, polo. Bringing along his own cheering section, William was joined by his wife Kate Middleton and their children Prince George, 4, and Charlotte, 3. However, there was no sign of the couple’s 6-week-old son Prince Louis.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and their two eldest children Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, joined other royal family members on a Buckingham Palace balcony on Saturday to watch the Trooping the Colour parade, a belated 92nd birthday celebration for Queen Elizabeth II. http://instagram.com/p/Bj0fmhEBnDO At one point, Charlotte accidentally slipped and fell off a step she had been standing on, prompting Kate to rush to catch her. The child then became upset and her mother picked her up and comforted her. Mom and daughter matched in blue outfits; Kate wore a pale blue squareneck Alexander McQueen dress and a matching Juliette Botterill hat, while Charlotte sported a blue and white smocked floral dress with a Peter Pan collar.

Prince George and Prince Charlotte are proving once again that they are little scene stealers! While their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, joined the Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, the royal siblings were behind the scenes, enjoying the festivities with their own little party from the palace windows.

The 3-year-old captured hearts in the official portraits from Prince Louis‘ christening when she sat next to mom Kate Middleton and couldn’t take her eyes off her baby brother. She even adorably held his hand for a group shot with all the royal family members. Charlotte has been taking her duties as a big sister seriously from the start. In an adorable photo of the pair taken just nine days after Louis’ birth on May 2 (Charlotte’s birthday), Charlotte cradles Louis in her lap and places a sweet kiss on her sleeping little brother’s head. Charlotte’s adoration for her baby sibling is reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth‘s own duties as an older sibling to the late Princess Margaret, who was four years younger than the monarch.

When Prince William is crowned King, there will be many changes in store for the rest of his immediate family. Kate Middleton will be named Queen, Prince George will move up in the line of succession to the throne, and Princess Charlotte will become the Princess Royal...eventually. Charlotte won't immediately take on the title of the Princess Royal because someone else in the family already holds it. “The title of Princess Royal is traditionally bestowed on the eldest daughter of the monarch," royal expert and author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story Duncan Larcombe tells TownandCountrymag.com, pointing out that Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth II's eldest daughter, is the current Princess Royal.
