She claims he's nothing more than a 'roommate'. But Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera certainly looked cosy as they picked out lighting fixtures together with the help of an assistant.
The pop star and her longtime friend, who is currently living with her, were all smiles as they browsed for lighting fixtures in West Hollywood on Monday. Avril, 31, invited Ryan, 33, to move into her Los Angeles home after her ex-husband, Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, moved out in September.
Everyone loves dolphins. It's just a fact. They're cute super-geniuses that make funny noises and they're totally chill with humans who want to attach themselves to their shiny backs to swim around for their own enjoyment. Even though we're heavy and smell terrible.
Avril Lavigne probably loves dolphins, too. But — and this is important — she did not write a song about dolphins. However, if you Google the word "dolphins" and the name Avril Lavigne, the Internet will tell you she did. Try it out.
"There are all these different lyrics sites," Ethan Chiel tells As It Happens host Carol Off. "A number of them pop up and offer nearly identical lyrics for this song that Avril never wrote or performed or, as far as I know, even knows exists."
On Monday, the pop star added a video to her Instagram page where a friend of hers is blowing out her long blonde hair. As he uses a hairbrush to show just how much hair she has, the guy mentions there are no extensions, something Lavigne found amusing.
It was announced last fall that Lavigne and her Nickleback rocker husband were ending their marriage after two years. And according to a report from E! News, the "Losing Grip" singer has been doing what she can to keep her head held high.
"Chad is being supportive," the source said. "At the end of the day, they just didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things...their friends and their circles never really mixed. They originally got together to make an album and that's where the spark between them originated. But it just slowly died out."
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger reunited on the red carpet and were spotted getting cozy at a pre-Grammy party Sunday night – five months after splitting following two years of marriage.
The former couple posed together at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Gala and Salute to Industry Icons in Beverly Hills on Sunday. Lavigne uploaded two smiling snaps with Kroeger to her Instagram account.
Lavigne wore a floor-length, long-sleeve dress with lace on top. Kroeger opted for a simple black suit. The two looked cozy throughout the evening, leaning close to each other as they sat at a table with Alice Cooper, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
Oh, come on now. Which of us doesn't have a few embarrassing videos/recordings/ill-advised projects from our teenage years lurking in the back of the cupboard in our childhood homes? Go on, dig out your diary from your school days. Did you really heart Josh Hartnett 4eva IDST? Well, yeah probably, he was a dish. But the point is that it's a universal thing, isn't it, being embarrassed by your former self.
So, spare a thought for Brie Larson, excellent actress extraordinaire and star of Scott Vs. The World and Trainwreck. The 26-year-old just bagged the Oscar for Best Actress, thanks to her role in the terrifying, claustrophobic drama Room, about a woman and her son kept captive in a shed for seven years. And now the internet is rummaging through the back catalogue. And something adorably embarrassing has turned up.
What is the meaning of this? It's 16-year-old Brie Larson vying to become to an angst-ridden pop star in the vein of Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson or – in her wildest dreams – Pink. Her one and only album was released in October 2005 to literally no fanfare and, like the actually quite catchy song above (that whooping keyboard bit is pretty great), is called Finally Out Of P.E.. What a strange title. Readers, there is an explanation for this.
