Earlier this week, Selena Gomez's Instagram follower count surpassed Taylor Swift's , making her the most-followed person on Instagram. With all eyes on Sel's Instagram, Vanity Fair decided to do an in-depth analysis of how exactly Selena managed to nab the crown and tbh, it wasn't all that flattering. Author Josh Duboff starts off by writing, "Selena Gomez is not the most famous person on the planet. She is not even the most famous person with an Instagram account (that would be Beyoncé, or Swift, or Kim Kardashian). Most people know her as either the ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber, or the girl who was on that Disney show about witches, or as a pop star whose songs are always playing in their spin class." While Duboff makes some great points about Selena's follower count being due to her highly engaged and loyal fans as well as her restraint when it comes to posting (AKA, not clogging up people's feeds, making every post an ~event~), fans couldn't help cringing at Duboff's continuous suggestions that her follower count was, in part, due to "The 'Justin' Factor." "As much as she might (or might not) wish it otherwise," Duboff wrote. "[Her on again off again relationship with Justin]... makes her photos catnip for the Us Weekly/people.com brigade. (Also, it is quite possible there is a large portion of Beliebers who follow her—whether out of affection or derision—in order to monitor her every move.)"

After dishing out some MAJOR low blows, Diplo finally — kinda sorta — apologized to Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber via social media for his uncalled for comments during an epic Twitter battle with Zedd. But is a simple Tweet enough to clear the air after all that went down? Diplo, 37, is finally trying to make nice after starting a wild Twitter feud with fellow music moguls — including Justin Bieber, 22, and Selena Gomez, 23. From dissing Zedd’s newest collab to bringing up Justin’s penis — yes he really went there — Diplo brought ALL the drama. To clear the air, the DJ posted an apology on his Twitter account, but we have to say, his timing makes it all seem a little half-assed. “If my airplane crashes I want everyone to know I love them and I didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feeling yesterday,” Diplo tweeted on March 22 from Paradise, Nevada. But really, Diplo? Right before hopping on an airplane? It seemed as if Diplo was only trying to rid himself of bad karma and wasn’t interested in ACTUALLY apologizing in a genuine manner.

The "Hands to Myself" singer attended her ex-boyfriend's Purpose World Tour concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, hanging out backstage with Bieber and sparking those rumors of a rekindled romance yet again. In fact, a source tells E! News the couple is "talking" about getting back together again after the conclusion of their tours. However, their focus currently remains on music, and they continue to support one another in their careers. The insider also notes that Selena has been on Bieber's mind this week, which became especially apparent after he posted a cryptic throwback of them kissing over the weekend, captioning it simply with one word: "feels." The insider tells us she had an "amazing" time watching him perform and hanging out with him in his dressing room after the show. She even stopped to pose for a couple selfies with a few people backstage, looking hot in a black, cut-out jumpsuit with a choker collar, jeans and a shawl

Selena Gomez let loose in a big way this weekend in a Texas bar ... fueled with what we're told is tequila and dancing on a table. We got this video of the singer at the Reata rooftop in Ft. Worth, and it's as clear as the booze she's no longer that Disney star Bieber grew to love.

Selena Gomez earns her third No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated April 16), as "Hands to Myself" lifts 2-1. The single follows leaders "Good for You," featuring A$AP Rocky, and "Same Old Love," each of which led for two weeks beginning in September and January, respectively. With all three songs from her album Revival, Gomez becomes just the sixth woman to score at least a trio of Pop Songs No. 1s from a single set (dating to the chart's 1992 launch). Here is the elite club and the albums and songs that gained them entrance:
