Zayn Malik says he's not in touch with his former bandmates any more, despite trying to get in touch with them. He left One Direction last year after returning home from their world tour. "I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven't received calls from a lot of people," he told Billboard Magazine. "I've reached out to a few of them and not got a reply. People have pride issues but it's stuff you overcome." Since Zayn left One Direction, his former bandmates have released their fifth studio album and finished their On the Road Again tour. Made in the A.M. was 2015's second fastest-selling album behind Adele's 25 and lead single Drag Me Down debuted at number one on the Official Singles Chart.

Last year, before releasing their big-selling album Made In The A.M., One Direction, the most popular global boy band of the past 15-or-so years, announced that they’d be going on a temporary hiatus. They stressed that they weren’t really breaking up; they just wanted to take a moment to catch their collective breath. Group member Zayn Malik had left the group earlier in the year, and they wanted to take stock of their lives. But now, it looks like the hiatus won’t be temporary; One Direction are no more. Us Weekly reports that “a source close to the band” is claiming that the breakup will be permanent: “The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.” That source says they won’t be renewing their recording contract. Liam Payne is reportedly hoping to become a producer and songwriter, while Harry Styles wants to get into acting. Louis Tomlinson is about to become a dad. If the breakup news is true, One Direction have still had a five-year, five-album run, which is way longer than most boy bands get. Even global-phenomenon types like *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys tend to flame out on album number four. Also, 1D have a handful of absolutely bulletproof pop songs. And even if your natural inclination is to make fun of a group like One Direction, keep this in mind: Chances are good that someone in your family is absolutely heartbroken over this.

The first One Direction baby has been born – and he’s “Perfect.” Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth welcomed their first child, a son, on Thursday, Jan. 21 in Los Angeles, a source close to Jungwirth confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. In July, PEOPLE reported that the singer, 24, was expecting his first child with Jungwirth, a Los Angeles-based stylist. “Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother,” a mutual friend of the two told PEOPLE. “It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer.”

The song marks the third single from the band’s fifth album, Made in the A.M., and the video is a touching see-you-soon to fans now that the band — comprised of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson — are on indefinite hiatus. Indeed, the end of the video sees the four of them walking in separate directions, nodding farewell to each other. The music video is simple but emotional, and is comprised primarily of footage that spans the band’s careers from their start on The X Factor U.K. — when Simon Cowell grouped them together — to their maybe-last bow, a performance of the same song on the X Factor finale. The latter performance was their last ahead of the hiatus, and had a similar vibe; as the four performed, their careers were flashed in short snippets on the big screen behind them. The video also features some never-before-seen footage — even including departed band member Zayn Malik. And though “History” acts as “a little bit of closure for this chapter of One Direction,” as Payne told EW, Tomlinson assured fans that the break — which follows a grueling five-year schedule of nonstop touring and recording — “isn’t as big and dramatic as it’s been made out. … I think we deserve a little break.”

Who knows exactly what's going on between super babe Kendall and 1D wonder Harry but Kendall reportedly doesn't think he's that bothered. A friend of the supermodel told Celebs Now, Kendall said Harry is "just not that into me", following rumours he spent time with a fashion stylist and blanked her at a birthday party. Even her big sis Khloe Kardashian claimed the pair never "had the chat" so it's all a bit up in the air, it seems. A source close to Kendall, 20, claims she was crushed after seeing photos of Pandora Lennard spending the night at Harry’s £3.5 million London home adding: "She allowed herself to get swept away with the romance, upsetting her good friend Taylor Swift who’s also dated the One Direction star in the past, in the process."
