Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky (From The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)
Miley Cyrus called the upcoming 2020 presidential election the most important in her lifetime as she encouraged her fans to get active in the voting process.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer dropped in for an appearance on Nova 96.9’s “Fitzy & Wippa” radio show, where she discussed her life amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hosts asked her about the upcoming election and whether or not she plans to use her platform to advocate for any political causes.
“Listen, I'm 27... and I know I've never experienced an election this important before and I’m not sure that I ever will again. I hope not in my lifetime,” she explained.
She said that, above all, she’s hoping that the troubling times Americans find themselves in will motivate the public, especially young people, to get active and ensure that everyone around them is prepared to vote in November.
“I can’t express the importance enough, especially of young people, of getting out there and being active and making sure that their friends, their families are voting and have their information,” Cyrus explained. “Whether it’s mailing in, the state of our country right now, the hate, the pain. It’s just crucial that we get out there and make changes and we have someone fit for the job running our country.”

Miley Cyrus got her start in show business at a young age, in part due to her dad’s fame. She was cast as the lead character (named Miley for her) in the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana, while Billy Ray Cyrus played her TV dad, Robby Ray, modeled after himself. Though they don’t act opposite one another these days, Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus continue to have both a personal and working relationship. The father-daughter duo has performed together on multiple occasions, such as their 2019 Glastonbury Festival appearance (above). Miley Cyrus has made her thoughts on the 45th president of the U.S. perfectly clear in the past. In a 2019 interview with Vanity Fair, while discussing her pre-election declaration that she would leave the country if he were elected, the singer deemed Donald Trump “a completely racist, sexist, hateful asshole.” Miley Cyrus remains engaged in the current discourse, though she typically interacts with Democratic politicians. While hosting her Instagram Live Show Bright Minded: Live With Miley during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, she spoke with Senator Elizabeth Warren, whom she called one of her “personal heroes.” In the weeks leading up to election day, Trump was among many who tested positive for coronavirus following an event at the White House. Though the president kept the world abreast of his condition, little was shared about his wife, Melania Trump, who also tested positive. “Hope you are feeling better @flotus,” Billy Ray Cyrus wrote in a social media post shared on October 8, 2020. “This photo was almost exactly a year ago. Thank you again for the compassion and time you shared with Channing’s Dad and his [brother]. #BeBest #SuicidePrevention”

Miley Cyrus performed her latest power ballad "Midnight Sky" for The Graham Norton Show on Saturday, 10 Oct. The single is the lead track for her upcoming seventh album She Is Miley Cyrus, and although we love the message of finding yourself in the freedom of owning your mistakes, we were absolutely fixated on the iridescent dress worn by her cardboard cutout and designed by one of 2020's most inspiring young creatives — Miss Sohee.
Cryus's cardboard cutout wore the beautiful Peony gown from Miss Sohee's graduate collection for Central Saint Martins, titled "The Girl in Full Bloom". The pink-and-lime-gold Peony dress is described by the designer as a "digitally printed, partly hand-dyed dress made in quarantine" and features a strapless design with blooming flower details, a peplum bodice, detachable balloon sleeves, a double-balloon hemline, and a matching fabric bow choker.
When South Korean-born, London-based designer Sohee Park saw her unique creation worn by Cyrus, she immediately shared her excitement on Instagram: "The one and only Miley Cyrus performed tonight at The Graham Norton Show in Miss Sohee Peony gown! 💜 Thank you MILEY for rocking in my dress in the dream performance!!!"
Ahead, a closer look at the truly incredible gown, and a few other stunning creations by Miss Sohee.
